Why on earth is EMR being given responsibility for providing this anomalous but clearly important morning peak service? Especially when they don’t appear to have compatible rolling stock to do so. It’s a recipe...
Today’s 1030 departure from London Paddington full and standing the full length of the aisles all the way from London to Bath. 9 coach train.
Surely the preceding 90 minute gap in departures from London needs to be filled. The demand is there.
According to a recent FOI response posted on the TfL website, the following changes are currently envisaged:
London Overground currently has the following plans to increase service frequencies:
On the Mildmay line we plan to increase service frequencies during peak periods from five trains...

Nothing for Ely Junction then?
Seems short sighted given how it unblocks freight and caters for growth in the Cambridge area.
The Hayes line seems to get a poor deal in the peaks, an uneven x10/x20min service frequency and standing loads from/to Elmers End according to Railcheck. All services operate with 10 coaches but seems like more capacity is needed here more than anywhere else on the SE Metro network. The...
Today’s cancellation list is dire.
Cancelling ICT services in the base timetable on routes like Penzance, Bristol and Cardiff to Paddington is a terrible way to run a railway.
Are the Trent Valley services from London still overcrowded or have they sorted that now? Is the hourly xx46 service from Euston on Saturdays formed of 8 coaches?
Apparently not possible without a passing loop but good to see that locals want a train service.

Does anyone know if a decision has been made? The changes were due to be implemented in Dec 2021 but the through off-peak Braintree service to London is still in the new timetable.
Was surprised today to catch a Waterloo to Shepperton via Richmond train on a Saturday when they don’t normally run. Don’t seem to be in the published timetable. Is this an extra service for Twickenham rugby match days?
The first train westbound from Peterborough on Sundays is as 1154 and even later for stations further west.
Anyone know why there is no earlier train? Is it to do with the location of the Cross Country depot or signalling box opening hours?
It might be unfunded and TfL might not be interested, but it actually seems like a good idea. Only about 7 miles and there are already a lot of people rail heading by car and bus from Harlow to Epping. I wouldn’t suggest it as suitable for end to end travel from Harlow to Central London but...

I think tram/train might work quite well. Scope to reopen Pendlebury and Irlam o' th' Height and new stops at Westhoughton and Little Hulton. A frequent service right into...
My personal experience on Sunday 25th August.
Outbound:
0854 London Waterloo to Poole on a class 444
Doors would not open at Clapham Junction. Left 8 mins late.
Cross Country on strike reducing capacity Basingstoke to Bournemouth.
Train divided at Eastleigh with front 5 carriages to Portsmouth...
London Overground will now operate 8 trains per hour peak and offpeak from Stratford to Willesden Junction, with four trains continuing to Clapham Junction and four trains continuing to Richmond.
The alternating every 10/20mins off-peak service on the Richmond branch will become every...
Are class 172 used on the direct service between Marylebone and Stratford on Avon on any days of the week, if so does anyone have details of the diagrams operated?
Does anyone have details of the frequency improvements bidders will be required to deliver?
