    The Return to School

I didn’t want to open a new thread, but has anybody been inconvenienced by the new restrictions on school buses? I have to get a bus in Doncaster and I used to be able to get on schoolchildren’s buses. Evidently, you can’t now, but some children still take normal ‘service’ buses and very...

Should bus windows be locked open to improve ventilation?

It is absolutely irrelevant as people wearing masks on the bus will stop the spread of the virus. ;)

Trivia: Large housing estates underserved by buses

There is an unfortunate paradox. If your route serves a lot of estates it may pick up more passengers, but add to the journey time between the origin and the destination, making that route less desirable as an attraction. The obvious example is where I live, from Doncaster to Sheffield. Years...

    Northern Class 195: Construction/Introduction Updates

Just a note to say it was amazing to have 195s on the Hope Valley route today. I got one from New Mills to Sheffield, and the improvement on 142s and 150s was phenomenal. Arrived early at every station except Sheffield where we got stuck outside the station waiting to access the platform.

Covid : Infection rates v death rates and a possible second wave

When I got my temperature taken after a sweaty walk to work, it was 34.8 degrees. I should have either been placed in a sleeping bag next to someone or put in a warm bath while the ambulance came . I think they threw the thermometer away.
