Sign language app for deaf passengers

Welcome to the forum. As you are a BSL user, you are the expert on here. I was just trying to explain why BSL users might find it harder to use written English - as I said, though, I know loads if BSL users who have overcome this.

Older people will remember Gardeners' Question Time, when Bill Sowerbutts was introduced as being from 'Ashton under Lyne'. He came from there but his nursery was in Hollingworth.

Green mini-trains to reverse Beeching’s cuts

Well, it certainly won't reverse Beeching cuts as a huge amount would have to be spent rebuilding track, reinstating bridges etc. The cost of running a lightweight train and the savings in fuel costs would be a minuscule proportion of the reopening costs.

Sign language app for deaf passengers

Think about it...when you write something it corresponds with a sound that you hear, and there is a 'logic' that certain letters you write match that sound. Although BSL users do use lip movements to some extent, it is much harder to relate a sign to written words on paper. If you imagine us...

I think it probably happens between established ‘flag carrier’ airways, who routinely overbook because they know that usually a certain percentage of booked passengers don’t show, then help each other if they do. Low cost airlines, as far as I know, don’t overbook. My mate got ‘bumped ‘ off a...

Mixture of single and double decker operated routes

In Doncaster, First, Arriva and Powells buses could be either single or double decker on almost all routes; though First do make sure that busy school buses are double deckers.

    Through and bay platforms

I agree it’s impractical and unnecessary, but it is eight through trains an hour. Have you forgotten to double it for the trains in the opposite direction?

Cafes and bars at stations where you can watch trains/trams

You are confusing ‘The Draughtsman’ on platform 3, where smoking is evidently not allowed, and you will need to take a plastic glass outside; and The Mallard accessed through the Frenchgate Centre where you can take a proper glass on the terrace and smoke.

LNER Intercity 91119 advanced gen request

You would be just as well parking in the Frenchgate Centre adjacent to the station: the traffic in Doncaster is usually only bad in the peak hours. The 331s are not in service yet but there have been several in the station and sidings around; yes it is a good spotting station; there are many...
