Arbitrary seat reservations without going to a ticket office?

More accurately, no independent retailer is being funded to do so by the taxpayer. But every TOC retailer is. But that’s fair, eh?

Arbitrary seat reservations without going to a ticket office?

You’d need your system to be accredited by rsp. But you’d earn nothing for doing standalone reservations.

Grand Central 180s - do they all have the same interior layout?

Thanks. I was wondering why they say "typical" layout on his page: https://www.grandcentralrail.com/sites/grandcentralrail.com/files/inline-images/GC%20Seating%20Plans%202020%20-%20Social%20Distanced_3.png.

Grand Central 180s - do they all have the same interior layout?

Do all the GC 180s (I believe there are 10) have the same interior layouts? I mean not just numbers of seats, but position of seats relative to windows, tables, size and type of seat etc. Or are they different from one another? I was wondering if the ex-GWR ones are different from the oes that...

Negative easement 700948: mustn't go via Oxford

Correct. It is definitely not be used as an input to determine anything! It also covers other group locations, not just London, now, and has for some time.

Negative easement 700948: mustn't go via Oxford

I suspect that the mileage link that connected the Chiltern lines to the GWR lines (around Greenford / Action? I can't remember) has disappeared, because there is no longer one service from Padd to the Chiltern route. So the shortest route is now rather a lot longer.

Brighton to Amberley -- quicker route more than double the cost?

If you’re changing at Ford there’s always a good shop to go and visit. Why rush?

    Caledonian Sleeper

An update earlier today. Glad it’s correct now. 1624389962 There is no groupsave from Crewe to Norwich. And I doubt that a car’s fuel economy would differ much between two people and three. 1624390059 Family and friends is available only for the seats. The more are already multi-room products...

Negative easement 700948: mustn't go via Oxford

They understand policy documents, not changes like this which are (in their view) “technical”, even though their effects are not remotely technical.

Flexible Rail Season Tickets - 2/3 days per week to be introduced by June 2021

The source of the data is the RSP fares feed, which is used by all ticket issuing systems (TIS). BRFares is not a TIS.

Avanti West Coast offering ludicrous routing (and seemingly also the wrong tickets)

The Avanti booking engine has thousands of errors in it. For example, Euston to Manchester shows journeys via Grantham. It is really unacceptable.

Flexible Rail Season Tickets - 2/3 days per week to be introduced by June 2021

It could be 4 periods of 1 week each; or 2 periods of 2 weeks each, for example. I did not state that it had to be 4 weeks in one go.

Flexible Rail Season Tickets - 2/3 days per week to be introduced by June 2021

Some less than favourable coverage: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57531439 Yet again the BBC is incapable of working anything out - to "only save £7 a year" you would need to be buying 13 Flexi-Season tickets. Most people take 4 weeks (or more) off, so a fairer comparison would be 12...

What Underground journeys can train tickets with cross-London connection be used for?

You can't use the Underground portion to go as far as, or exit at, Hanger Lane. There is a list on National Rail of permitted entry / exit Underground stations when crossing London with a a rail ticket marked with a "Maltese Cross". You are correct that you can rejoin at Ealing Broadway.

LNER compulsory reservations - what happens if you don’t have one?

I think that you can only get to that number if you assume that every table has a group of 4 around it?

LNER compulsory reservations - what happens if you don’t have one?

Virtually every LNER train to / from kings cross on Thursday, Friday and Sunday is sold out / fully reserved. At less than 50% of capacity of course. People are just going to drive.

Southeastern station refused GWR mobile ticket for break of journey

Rail settlement plan (rsp) in consultation with retailers and TOCs. A TOC can unilaterally do something if it’s only for use on its own services.
