Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

6014/5 are at Copthorne permanently, providing cover to enable ex Southdown vehicles to go to refurb beginning next month.

This must've used up most of their hydrogen because (unless there are tracking issues) 0 Hydroliners are out today so far.

    Stagecoach South & South East

It being operated by Stagecoach SE isn't the problem, the problem is the Brighton-Eastbourne corridor is already well-serviced enough by B&H so that's the service customers will take, I doubt many are even aware of the 701.

Quite a few ended up doing that yesterday, still not entirely sure why but should be fixed now.

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

The fleet of 08-reg omnicity single deckers branded for the 100 are slowly getting withdrawn - 2 were withdrawn last week. I think they're also becoming less reliable although I don't monitor this closely so can't know for sure. There are definitely more double-deckers on the 100 currently than...

That's presumably because you're looking on the wrong date and the timetable isn't out yet.

    December 2024 timetable change

https://www.mimsdavies.org.uk/news/mims-davies-mp-provides-gtr-meeting-update-east-grinstead-uckfield-and-wivelsfield-trains Some minor changes for Southern have been confirmed by local MP Mims Davies, specifically the return of the 21:36 and 22:36 East Grinstead-Victoria trains (essentially...

    Stagecoach South & South East

Not to my knowledge. No idea if you've heard something specific but I see no reason why any would be arriving.

Better service this Sunday than Saturday!

Same with the Oxted line. 2tph Victoria-East Grinstead on weekends but only 1tph Mon-Fri off-peak (in peak times I think it's roughly 3-4tph).

    RailAdventure Power Cars

https://www.flickr.com/photos/201056383@N02/53866714721/ they last had a run out 3 days ago and they were still in EMT livery then so looks like it.

    First Group: General Discussion

I think Buses of Somerset will be one of the brands that remains, considering that the local council appears to have had some sort of role in designing the latest livery and the brand has been in place longer than all others in First.

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

No idea although I'd imagine if any deckers were able to be withdrawn they'd be the first to go from the fleet completely (alongside 6953/4 which still retain the old interior and are the oldest omnicities in the fleet).

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

13 due in total. The first batch of 6 arrived in March (ex 479, 486-490, now 6907-6912), the second batch is 401-407, renumbered to 6931-6937 (numbered differently due to Euro-5 engines and therefore can't enter ULEZ.) The plan is for N270UD omnicities to move across to Copthorne relatively soon...

    Trivia: Short Lived Bus Routes

There were 2 separate incredibly short-lived attempts circa 2008-2009 to challenge Metrobus on Crawley town routes, with 1 lasting a few days before being quietly cancelled.

    Trivia: Short Lived Bus Routes

This reminded me of Arriva Southern Counties short-lived X1, an express service linking Guildford to Horsham. Started in May 2017 with Volvo B9R coaches but within months it was relegated to being run by Merc Sprinter breadvans, before ending in March 2018.

Yes they all have the Southdown blinds, and vice versa with Southdown buses on Metrobus routes (although that's never happened yet).

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

No it's happened quite a few times. There's also been multiple instances of Brighton & Hove liveried Omnidekkas running on routes, particularly the 410 I think. Also the Geminis are at Crawley, not Copthorne.

    Stopper allowed out first

that's interesting because the only time i've experienced something similar to this the exact opposite occurred - specifically involving a late running Portsmouth-London train and a Haslemere stopper about a week ago. the Portsmouth service was running 18L by the time it reached Haslemere...

Brighton & Hove / Metrobus Discussion

The 420 is already operated by B9TLs, that's what the existing 6 are mostly used on. There's at least 6 more due in, ex Brighton 479/486-490 which'll become 6907-6912. I say at least 6 because there are rumours of an additional 2 or 4 arriving but that's more guesswork or speculation than...
