Short ticketed 14 times and awaiting a letter, I'm so scared please help

Rather than saying 'I am willing to pay...' I suggest saying'I wondered if it would be possible to deal with this case without going to court. I am willing to pay the outstanding fares plus your administrative costs in dealing with the issue.' If you're going to tell them about other times...

    MG11 southeastern rail

Welcome to the forum! Somepne purchasing a traditional ticket between London Bridge and Charing Cross is going to look suspicious simply because the vast majority of people would use contactless for that journey. What happens next is that Southeastern will write to you in the next few weeks...

    GA travel irregularity

I agree the letter is good. Please let us know how Greater Anglia respond.

    16-25 Minimum Fare and Travelcards

I might be misremembering but isn’t there a minimum fare for a Travelcard? 1725039875 Just checked and the minimum railcard discounted off peak Travelcard fare is £10.40, so it isn’t this…

Cranbrook to Northampton: which route to take?

If you use SWR from Cranbrook into Waterloo then you can use your Network Railcard throughout.

I've just received a prosecution notice from Thames Link.. Please help.

I agree, the latest version of the letter is good. Short and concise but giving all the relevent information.

Can someone be fined/prosecuted based on history of fare evasion?

You can delete your account but this doesn't remove the underlying data which can still be disclosed to train companies. Some platforms allow you to checkout as a guest but this doesn't mean there isn't a digital footprint.

Can someone be fined/prosecuted based on history of fare evasion?

There isn't anything you can do about previous irregularities. What's done is done. In future the answer is simple - travel with valid tickets.

More fare increase trials on the cards?

Let's remember that the Off Peak Return from London to Manchester is £109 valid at Off Peak times on weekdays and any train at the weekend. It offers a choice of routes and allows you to break your journey. The return portion is valid for a month. I wonder how much more expensive an...

No Standard Class fares showing for LNER this weekend

If it's an Off Peak Return that allows travel on any train then I'd use these trains, and forget CrossCountry. In theory a ticket office can issue you with seat reservations or alternatively you can book seat reservations through these trains through GWR's website. I've shown an itinerary to...

No Standard Class fares showing for LNER this weekend

Exactly what ticket has she booked.

No Standard Class fares showing for LNER this weekend

The forum's ticketing site will sell tickets with seat reservations for the 10:10 departure, changing at Doncaster onto Transpennine (so avoiding CrossCountry). It will also probably be cheaper then booking direct with LNER!

Can someone be fined/prosecuted based on history of fare evasion?

Welcome to the forum! This sounds as though you're in a spot of bother. If you can tell us more about what has happened then we can offer better advice. Generally speaking purchasing invalid tickets is not illegal but using them is. Online ticket sales and ticket scan data makes it easier...

    GA travel irregularity

They are asking you to contact them about your case to potentially settle the matter out of court. While you're not required to incriminate yourself being realistic, there are two outcomes: 1. Write to them, 'fess up' to what you've done and how many times you've done it. They will offer you...

Chiltern Railways Notice of Intended Prosecution

The letter looks fine to me. I would give it another day before replying as other forum members might have some other suggestions. Chiltern will probably audit your online ticketing account and identify the other journey you've made when you didn't have a valid railcard. They will probably...

    My misrecollection and Thameslink ticket

If what you've told us is correct, then I'm not sure your should have been issued with a ticket irregularity report. Contactless works a bt different to normal tickets. The inspector cannot see whether or not you have touched in. When an inspection happens onboard the train your card is...

    WMR Fare evasion

It sounds to me as though they've closed the investigation into other ticketing irregularities on your account but IRCAS will deal with the incident on the day you were stopped.

I've just received a prosecution notice from Thames Link.. Please help.

I agree with @John R Have another go at it, I suggest reading some other threads in this section of the forum as there are sone good examples that you can base your reply on.
