it typically takes a few week, normally 3-4. They deal with loads of cases at a time and it's peak holiday season at the moment.

No reply following offer to settle out of court UPDATE

I'd try and make the 2nd paragraph shorter. Just say sorry, what you have learned and ask if they will consider settling out of court.

Fare evasion - West Midlands train

They won't send anything else. Keep a copy of the email filed 'just in case' but you shouldn't need it.

Cranbrook to Northampton: which route to take?

I'd go via London just to avoid the awful overcrowded CrossCountry trains.

    York to Cambridge via Stevenage

Stevenage is my local station. If you miss the 14:02 the next Cmabridge departure is at 14:08 arriving at 14:53 - they delay wouldn't even qualify for delay repay! Form a ticketing point of view if you miss the train you're allowed to get the next train but GTR also have an easement which...

Expansion of LNER 70-min flex trial area ("Simpler Fares")

This thread is to discuss the LNER Simpler Fares trial and recent discussion on general fares reform is starting to become off-topic. Can we keep discussion in this thread to the LNER trial, if anyone wants to have a more general discussion on rail fares reform then please feel free to start a...

Letter from TFL - Investigation Appeals and Prosecutions Team

I would arrange for your post to be redirected, it really is something you should do when you move anyway - although less stuff is sent by post these days there's always something, somewhere that gets missed. If TfL do prosecute the paperwoek won't be sent by email, it'll be via the post.

I've just received a prosecution notice from Thames Link.. Please help.

Welcome to the forum. You should be able to settle this out of court if you write a short, concise reply to the letter. I suggest mentioning the following int he reply: - That you are sorry for what has happened - What you have learned from the incident - That you are keen to settle the...

    GTR Meeting

If GTR want to interview you under PACE procedures then I would not attend without a solicitor. I suspect that all they want to do is have a chat to agree how many times you have evaded your fare and calculate the value of the settlement to keep the matter out of court.

HELP NEEDED - letter to GTR about pending prosecution

If you're leaving a letter for a friend to post for you, could you ask them to write the case reference number on the top of it for you before they post it.

gtr keygo overcharging railcard discounted ticket - rounding error?

It's probably due to the railcard discount moving to 33.4% rather than 34%

    GTR Meeting

There is no requirement to have a solicitor. The vast majority of people obtain a settlement from GTR without using a solicitor. The complication in your case is the level of evasion. GTR might fee like making an example of you in court, on the other hand a settlement is likely to yield them...

TVM ran failed to print part of a order for collection, what happens next

There is a RDG procedure for this sort of thing but I suspect you’ll have a considerable challenge getting staff to look it up and follow it.

How much time to leave for Eurostar

Normal connection time between Euston and St Pancras (07:00-19:00) is: Euston interchange time 15 mins Transit time 8 mins St Pancras Interchange time 15 mins Total 38 mins. I was then under the impression you had to give an additional 30 mins for Eurostar check-in, giving a total of 68...

    GTR Meeting

The purpose of the interview is to establish the level fare evasion. Generally speaking GTR will offer an out of court settlement to people who co-operate with their investigation and who haven’t come to their attention before. The issue for you is the fare evasion has been going on for years...

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

MKC is harder because there’s a significant gap between the TOC only fares and the Any Permitted. Stevenage has only LNER only and Any Permitted, and the difference isn’t big.

Project Oval: TfL win DfT contract to expand contactless system to 233 rail stations by May 2024, Railcards coming to contactless payment cards

Stevenage is in phase 2. To be honest I expect the farcial LNER only walk up fares to go. There is so little difference in price they cause more confusion. People travelling from Stevenage to London just board the first train.

    GTR Meeting

We have seen examples of this sort of letter from GTR in the past. We have advised people to reply being honest about what they have done and this has avoided the need to attend an interview. That said this case is on a somewhat larger scale and the sud of money involved significantly higher...
