Notice of intended prosecution Chiltern Railways

Forget the wording of the second letter, meeting friends and text messages. What I need to know is was your son stopped and questioned by Chiltern a second time.

TfL caught me but no details taken

I suspect you have been very lucky here. I could still do with knowing exactly where you purchased the ticket from - was it online or at a ticket machine? We know that your ticket wasn't valid and consequently you could have been given a Penalty Fare. We know this didn't happen. The inspector...

Notice of intended prosecution Chiltern Railways

This is why I want confirmation from @worried parent If @worried parent son has been stopped more than once then my advice will be different compared to this being a data trawl by Chiltern and them just sending an erroneously worded standard letter.

Loading SWR issued Rail Travel Voucher onto Oyster Card

You'll struggle to find a London Underground ticket office as they all closed down about 10 years ago!

Notice of intended prosecution Chiltern Railways

Can you confirm - has your son been stopped twice? I'm assuming he hasn't but I want to be certain.

TfL caught me but no details taken

We need more information to be able to assist. Which train company are you dealing with? Which stations were you travelling between? Exactly what ticket did you have and where did you buy it from? Was the ticket printed on paper or a ticket shown on your phone?

Used child ticket - approached by revenue recovery GWR

Welcome to the forum! GWR will write to you in the next few weeks, it's likely that they will ask you to pay for the journey you made in addition to an admin fee. The issue you have here is that the train company has incorrect contact details for you. Unless you are confident you will be able...

GTR Notice of Intent to Prosecute

I think this is fine to send and I would be very surprised if they don't offer you an out of court settlement. Please do let us know how you get on.

Could new report from Transport Focus Help 1st time offences *which were unintentional*

Nothing significant will change until the legal framework around ticketing and ticketing irregularities changes. This requires urgent reform as the Regulation of the Railways Act, Railway Byelaws and even Penalty Fares Regulations were written in the era before it was possible to buy tickets...

GTR Notice of Intent to Prosecute

Welcome to the forum! I would send a short, concide reply that mentions: - That you are sorry for what has happened - What you have learned from the incident - That you are keen to settle the matter without the need for court action - Offer to pay the outstanding fare and the train company's...

    GTR fraudulent travel

This is quite an interesting case. if I understand it correctly: - @Ryderxx made a journey from Chatham to St Pancras on 19th September - They used a combination of tickets consisting of an e-ticket from Chatham to Abbey Wood, contactless from Abbeywood to Farrington and an e-ticket from...

    DiColl - Fare Penalty

Welcome to the forum! I am sorry to hear about the situation regarding your mum. From a legal point of view you must be in possession of a valid ticket for your journey before you board the train and failure to comply with this is a criminal offece. There are some exceptions, if there are no...

Stopped whilst accidentally using my mum's Disable Freedom pass

Pleading not guilty means you would have to attend court in person but it does buy some more time for TfL to reply, Normally, if you plead guilty at the earliest opportunity the fine is reduced by a third. The disadvantage of pleading not guilty is if you are found guilty by the court the fine...

Stopped whilst accidentally using my mum's Disable Freedom pass

I'd take out the paragraph about contact TfL and the Freedom Pass company. Your only ask of this request is to get a Verification Letter so my view is not to confuse matters by trying to explain or give mitigation here. I don't know of a phone number for TfL's Investigations department, don't...

Stopped whilst accidentally using my mum's Disable Freedom pass

Yes, I would remove them. This isn't the place to be giving mitigation. You're asking for a verification letter so you can give your mitigation. As far as I know their email address is IAP@tfl.gov.uk

Stopped whilst accidentally using my mum's Disable Freedom pass

Remove 'I hope this finds you well'. It's not needed. I would remove the third and fifth paragraphs completely, this isn't the place to give your mitigation. You want a Verification Letter to be able to do that. Change 'I sincerely apologise for the error...' to 'I respectfully request...

Stopped whilst accidentally using my mum's Disable Freedom pass

Personally, and I am prepared to be corrected by others, I would hold of returning the SJPN until Tuesday next week to allow TfL the opportunity to reply. I believe they are usually quite quick if you email them but do make sure your email to them is very clear. You might want to post a draft...

Stopped whilst accidentally using my mum's Disable Freedom pass

Welcome to the forum! TfL normally send a Verification Letter to people they are investigating for a ticket irregularity which is your opportunity for you to give your version of events before they decide how to proceed. Did you get a verification and, if so, what did you say in your reply...
