Liverpool Street (Anglia Railways) drivers are provided with taxis to/from home up to around 40 miles for shifts they cannot get to by train. These are booked the previous evening by the duty traincrew managers (DTM).
It had so much money spent on it to accommodate those fast ferries but also get what you mean. I popped back last year to tick the Spoon overlooking the old HSS dock. The convenience for the DART was terrific.
On the Dun Laoghaire - Holyhead route sailings went from 4 to 3 engines as an economy measure but this added 15 minutes at least to the 99 minute journey time often leading to missed rail connections at the Welsh port.
Brundall isn’t as although the main route slightly goes off to the right the Acle branch curves off far sharper to the left and it’s 25mph compared to 60mph in the Cantley direction.
Reedham has been slightly corrected since resignalling. It’s now 60mph towards Yarmouth and 20mph on what is now...

It’s a shame delay repay can’t be suspended on such days where it’s known well in advance.
It was so good when the train met the HSS from Belfast although not so much if heading south. I recall a tedious journey on a 156 from Stranraer to Carlisle (no catering) that had a similar journey time as the Pendolino from there to Euston.
Yes EMR have really improved the offering for Uttoxeter Races these days. I know they went the extra mile for the Midlands Grand National with strengthening and relief trains. The recent Ladies Day saw record crowds passing through the course gates.
Already planning to go up to 26 or 28 tph in each direction. One option is to divert the peak Gidea Park-Liverpool St (High Level) into the central core.
No, not at all. Been employed on and interested in rail for over 40 years. Been so many ups & downs and yet they always carry on. Cant see that changing personally.
The gap In service with EMR in the afternoon eastbound which was with the 13:52 ex-Liverpool terminating Nottingham was rectified around 15 years ago. The only gap after that was the 16:52 which didn’t continue eastbound and that’s been the case since the early 1990s.
