    Russia invades Ukraine

How much of a role are the Ukrainian Air Force playing? I'd be surprised if the Russians hadn't knocked their runways with long range strikes. Even if the runways were operational, the Ukrainian Air Force don't fly western types so there would be no hope of that plan working unless the west has...

    Storm Eunice - Flight Disruption

Weather conditions aren't constant! One flight may get a particularly nasty gust when landing and have to go around, whilst the next flight 2 mins later may get away with it. They can only really have a couple(ish) of go's at landing and then they will have to divert as if they keep trying and...

A Tube train can make its station call within 20 seconds at a National Rail station. Why is the dispatch procedure of some other trains so long?

Bit off topic, but regarding slam doors working today, they would still work (again, ignoring H&S) if they were in widespread use. The issue you identified with the last days of the HST slam doors is simply because people aren't familiar anymore. Case in point for me, I travelled on the Swanage...

Why the fear/anger (or similar) emotions around mask wearing?

Unfortunately, due to the poor messaging from the government etc, a lot of the public are of the belief that masks don't protect the wearer (whether it's a piece of cloth or a proper mask), to be protected everyone else must wear a mask. This is something that seriously needs to be addressed and...

    What's your latest acquisition?

Unit 410. Tried to dig up some info, but it doesn't seem like it was preserved. Just lasted longer than some of the others and thus gained a headlight. Seems to disappear from photo records in the mid '90s

    What's your latest acquisition?

New arrival from Kernow today. Been keeping an eye on the TC sets for a while, hoping for a sale. One set was put in the sale over the weekend and it just happened to be the one I was waiting on. Now my 33 finally has stock to run with.

    Hornby 2022 range

A fair few CIG's had the green livery (although shortlived), however only one VEP was repainted green. 3514 if I remember correctly, so hopefully Hornby will get it right!

    Daft school rules

Odd rule / schedule in P.E I've just remembered from secondary school. When you were in years 7 - 9 (age 11-14), you did outdoor sports in the winter and indoor in the summer. This then swapped around once you got to years 10 & 11. Made the last couple of years of P.E very enjoyable!

Personal experience of Covid (Autumn/Winter 2021-22)

Girlfriend tested positive on a LFT on Sunday. She's only single jabbed due to side effects, but she only has a slight cough and is generally fine. I'm managing to stay negative at the moment,(PCR was negative and daily LFT's all negative) despite living in the same house.

    Vaccine Progress, Approval, and Deployment

It's also in an area that has a very high rate of COVID. Isn't it possible more people are isolating and therefore can't make there appointment. We know from the hospitality industry how people don't cancel if they can no longer attend!

    What's your latest acquisition?

Recently took delivery of the Bachmann 117 with sound, my 1st sound model. Reduced from Kernow as part of their exhibition special for £300 which is fairly reasonable for a sound unit in today's world. Impressed with it so far, takes some getting used to with trying to remember what all the...

    TfL should enforce mask wearing

We have a vaccine, case numbers are not as significant anymore, especially as most are in children and young adults who are at minimal risk Hospital admissions have been declining since the end of October Unfortunately, ambulances queuing to offload is nothing new and would happen with or...
