Why do some passengers not get how annoying it is to play music and videos out loud?

Because right now everyone lives in a world where it’s all “Me Me Me”, even though it’s always been the case it’s gotten worse since the pandemic. Nobody knows how to behave in public anymore. Simply, they know it’s an annoyance, but they don’t care.

    New TPE first class menu

I believe sometimes an extra 802 appears on the WCML if there is an availability issue with a 397. Glasgow does not have any booked 802 work at the moment. There is currently one booked diagram from Edinburgh. I believe there is also a spare 802 on Craigentinny, which may have been where this...

    XC Voyager Refurbishment

I was on a CrossCountry Voyager between Paignton and Manchester a few months ago. We were a bit delayed and to my surprise an automatic announcement played apologising for the delay. I can’t remember the exact wording of it nor did I manage to get a recording.

Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2 & 3

Not got any pictures to hand but they have started rebranding Edinburgh Waverley into RA2. So far signs on Platform 5 and 6 have been changed over, with a handful completed on Platform 11/12 as well as some station signs on the relevant platforms.

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) First Class service

The most consistent First Class service I had was on a service from Kings X to Edinburgh. First food and drinks just outside Kings X, followed by hot drinks, then another cold drinks run by Grantham, and I think another hot drinks came just after Retford. They resumed it all after York until the...

LNER Aberdeen services set-down only at Edinburgh and Haymarket during Festivals

Surprising that they haven’t also replicated this with the Inverness, which I’m pretty sure has a much heavier load on it than the Aberdeens (of people making through journeys from the Highlands to London)

    Scottish Citylink

How has the 902 been doing since its extension to Edinburgh? Anytime I’ve seen a 902 go past me at the Edinburgh end of the route it’s always had 1 or 2 people on, it’s never been busy.

Software Issues on the Class 380

Another one was that the displays were displaying things like “The next stop is Largs.” When it was actually Dalry or Lochwinnoch. It’s definitely a recent thing.

Software Issues on the Class 380

Seems to be still pretty persistent. Currently sat on a pair of 380s on a Largs service, with the internal displays simply displaying “Largs”. Announcements are working so not entirely sure what’s up with the screens.

TPE Newcastle to Edinburgh : Coach A or Coach E at the front ?

@hexagon789 is exactly right. A tip for telling what way round the train is by going onto the TransPennine Express app, look at arrivals and departures and click your corresponding service, it (normally) tells you what way round the train is. Coach D is also unreserved, however approximately...

    Releasing Unoccupied Reserved Seats

I don’t think your approach was wrong. The passengers should know that they need to sit in their corresponding class, so it’s not your fault that they took it upon themselves to do that. Everyday is a learning day, if you ever feel like trying it again, specify that it needs to be in the same...

ScotRail - Conductor Recruitment and Discussion

I’d assume that means my chances of getting a new assessment day are all but non-existent now. I couldn’t make my original one but they took down my availability and said they would let me know… but I’m not hopeful. EDIT: Just got offered a new one, I’ll eat my words.

    ScotRail cancelling services July 2024

Sundays in particular have been dire recently. Every train that came into Edinburgh was extremely busy (and some were single units). Even the 8 carriage Glasgow trains being one an hour were not coping at all. I definitely can see even more of a reduction coming, it’s not looking good that the...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Ah, was wondering because another XLB passed shortly after (3 in a row which means one must’ve been significantly late).

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Are there any dupes being ran on the 100 today? Just saw 500 (one of the Skylink Gemini 3s) go past on an Airport bound 100, tailing one of the normal XLBs (both of which were rather full).

    ScotRail cancelling services July 2024

Wemyss Bay gets hit with a fair few gaps too, but everywhere else in Strathclyde is broadly hourly it seems. It seems that the evenings are getting hit with the long gaps, Neilston doesn’t have anything for four hours. East Kilbride doesn’t get anything for three hours while Largs and Gourock...

    ScotRail cancelling services July 2024

Tomorrow looks particularly dire. Two hourly gap between 1100 and 1300 on the Edinburgh to Glasgow, Fife services looking to be sporadic with Leven only getting 6 services (1017, 1217, 1417, 1817, 1915 and 2216). Tweedbank has a four hour gap in the evenings with the line via Dunfermline City...

    Releasing Unoccupied Reserved Seats

This is something I notice aswell. It seems to go in order of B, E then F or some variation as those three always seem to be full, Coaches A and D tend to fill up last, D usually being almost entirely unreserved on most trains I’ve been on (like being able to have a table to myself from...

    Scottish Citylink

Hi. Does anyone know what runs of the N900 are operated by West Coast Motors? Or is it just completely random?

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

One thing I’m noticing since the 100 has been moved to Waverley Bridge, the bus pulls away then sits for ages at the traffic lights. It seems to be at least two or three cycles before you get moving.
