    T.O.C. Revenue Protection Policy Documents?

Many train companies do publish their Revenue Protection Policy, the easiest way is to search ‘Revenue Protection’ on their website.

Class 365 PBC Unit and PIS system

'This train is for bLondon Kings Cross, via Stevenage' :D There was still a random 365 saying West Anglia Great Northern until the very end. Did a double take when I got on it and heard it.

Missing a connection with an Advance - not due to delays

Also, on our site you can specify additional interchange time which is useful if you think you’re going to need more than the minimum time allowed when changing trains.

Lord Hendy decides that Advances are the Way Forward

I’m not sure how Asvance fares are different to those I see abroad. France is often held up as an example of best practice but my experience is that you can only get Advance tickets for the booked train only. These aren’t exactly cheap either. Trying to book a ticket to South West France on a...

Lord Hendy decides that Advances are the Way Forward

People faffing at the barriers frustrates the hell out of me! It is usually people looking on their phones for their ticket these days but that's because most tickets are tickets displayed on mobile phones. Back in the day, it was a problem with paper tickets, especially for leisure...

Lord Hendy decides that Advances are the Way Forward

I understand that and it must be frustrating, but equally not evey passenger has a paper ticket immediately to hand. They probably do these days, simply because they've become a bit of a niche product, in many cases if you're buying online you have to be savvy enough to know how to get a paper...

Lord Hendy decides that Advances are the Way Forward

I agree there is more faff at barriers. This could be avoided if people simply got their ticket open on their phone prior to arriving at the barrier. I sometimes see people faffing in their purses for paper tickets, admitedely not as often. As the network gets busier this is something the...

Lord Hendy decides that Advances are the Way Forward

Are you comparing like with like? A scan of an e-ticket barcode is faster than clipping a CCST with a Zifa stamp. A cursory glance of an e-ticket takes the same time as a cursory glance of a CCST.

Annual Gold Card discounts disappearing from online ticketing?

A similar issue occurred when Coventry Arena station opened. Thankfully I was able to notify someone at London Midland (as was) and they quickly understood the issue and fixed it.

I'd consider a speed awareness course to be similar to an out of court settlement.

Season Ticket from Plumstead to London Cannon Street

Monthly season tickets can be bought in 'odd-period' blocks, for example 1 month and 5 days at a pro-rate rate. So it's worth buying in five week blocks around annual leave and bank holidays to maximise validity. If you bite the bullet and buy an annual season ticket this will be issued as a...

Customer service and booking experience on third party retailers

Electricity is a bit simpler than train journey. Let's look at a couple of examples. I once made a journey from Edinburgh to Enfield Chase, changing at Stevenage. I had 4 minutes to make the change which is the minimum interchange time at Stevenage. Trains from Stevenage to Enfield Chase...

    Manchester Stations (MCR)

0.9 miles/22 minutes according to Google. I can normally beat that comfortably although I do know the short cuts. A few years ago, I was on my way back from a forum walk and was travelling from Blackburn to Euston, with changes at Bolton and Piccadilly. The train from Bolton was cancelled so...

    Manchester Stations (MCR)

I normally walk between Piccadilly and Victoria. Takes c.15 minutes at a brisk pace.

    Manchester Stations (MCR)

Bear in mind that yiu have to take a train from Victoria to Piccadilly, there's only one an hour. You can't take the tram without paying separately.

Customer service and booking experience on third party retailers

The National Rail Conditions of Travel says that: I'm all for making claiming delay repay easier to claim, and feel free to make suggestions on how this could be achieved but this should be a separate thread in the appropriate section.

HELP Got caught using my mums 60+ oyster TFL

Thanks for updating us. Attending court can be a stressful experience, if someone does have to go to court it can be useful to attend a couple of weeks before the case and watch some cases from the public gallery to find out what goes on and what to expect.

That's good news, thanks for letting us know. A shame the admin backlog meant you ended up having to attend.

Customer service and booking experience on third party retailers

If you travel and are delayed then you don't claim a refund. You claim delay repay compensation from the train company that caused the initial delay to your journey. Which retailer you buy the ticket from is immaterial when claiming delay repay.
