I answered this in a few earlier posts: SilverRail supplies the TIS (and journey planner)

Severn Valley Railway to trial commuter services

These are not reasons not to do it. The SVR operator might not participate in DR, for example.

Severn Valley Railway to trial commuter services

Adding the timetable for this service to the published schedule data (including adding Bewdley, Kidderminster SVR and a fixed link between the two Kidderminster stations), and adding through fares to / from Bewdley, would go a long way to making this a success, at little extra cost. It was the...

£33.4 million for next batch of ticket gates

Apologies, I thought they were S&B for some reason. It doesn't affect the relevance of my question though.

£33.4 million for next batch of ticket gates

These are S&B gates, not Cubic. But I agree that there’s a lot of cost here. What I object to though is the dishonest comparison of the £33m cost for gates at 18 stations with the estimated fraud (of £400m) from 2,600 stations (without saying so). If the business case for the 18 stations was...

£33.4 million for next batch of ticket gates

I would like to see the business case for these. Is the £33m capital cost only, or does it include maintenance of the gates, and additional staffing costs (if any) over the lifetime operational period? What is the anticipated lifetime? During this time, what is the additional revenue that will...

ScotRail - New app / website booking engine from 30 July 2026

No as that also involves hitachi. Probably more like GWR and SWR, at least from a back end perspective.

Unable to buy a ticket from Brighton or Preston Park to York

I think everything powered by SilverRail is (incorrectly?) showing no availability. None of LNER, GWR, or NationalRail.co.uk (all powered by SilverRail IPTIS journey planner) show any availability. On the other hand Trainline, Railsmartr, Raileasy all show an Anytime Single for £187.40.

Delay Repay if I travel early and get delayed

As the passenger did not voluntarily travel early, but did so because the TOC cancelled a service, then I would say thet they are entitled to Delay Repay against the revised itinerary 'offered'by the TOC.

Swiss Holiday - Tips and Advice?

I'd recommend you fit in trips on: - Goldenpass line from Spiez to Montreux. Stunning views coming down to Montreux, as well as generally. Gets busy though! - Rigi from Arth Goldau and then down to Vitznau with a paddle steamer back to Luzern. Rigi is a very walkable mountain top, green and...

Why Cambridge South was not built with two islands instead of side/island/side platforms

I hadn't realised that such a stupid design had been used. Island platforms for each direction of travel would have improved the customer experience hugely, as well as giving greater operational flexibility (changing platforms would not matter so much). Fewer platforms is also better for...

    Passenger Assistance enquiry

It’s up to the operator of the first service that you get to arrange passenger assistance for the whole journey for all stations and all operators. This is to ensure just one line of responsibility and one contact point for the customer. As your journey was on xc (assuming it was only on them)...
