    Why I avoid e-tickets

About 90% of our customers (all online) choose e-tickets. Online sales account for a bit over half of all ticket sales. The rest is pay as you go, ticket vending machines and station booking offices. Many stations and TVMs now also produce barcode tickets.

Expansion of LNER 70-min flex trial area ("Simpler Fares")

Nobody ever begins from the question: “what is the customer experience that we want to deliver?” This encompasses the physical product, the pricing and flexibility, the frequency and service quality, comparisons with other modes and integration with them and ease of purchase / use (low friction).

Using season ticket with an itinerary

So if you buy a ticket with an itinerary, then the itineraries are changed because of engineering works / easements, the ticket you bought is no longer valid (though the same one bought later is)? I don’t think they would stand up to scrutiny.

Reading to Manchester - Crosscountry Trains Website - Ticket Amend Issue

This is absolute rubbish. For an advance ticket change of journey to be made only the following need be the same: - the origin -the destination -the route (which refers to the route on the ticket, e.g. cross country and connections) If the route referred to the number or location of changes...

Super Off-Peak tickets on a peak time train

You will have a valid itinerary and ticket but some staff might think otherwise. The gates are programmed separately so they will might not let you through.

Super Off-Peak tickets on a peak time train

As you can see on this screenshot from brfares.com the TOC has not applied this restriction to 26th May. Probably a mistake, but should not really be your problem. They will probably "fix" it before the date, and you might find issues on the day - but this is not your issue This will be...

    Trainsplit advising paper tickets only?

I haven't looked at the data but just played aound with a few booking engines. From 27th April ScotRail Advance tickets seem to be enabled, but Anytime tickets are not always.

Stations with GOOD real ale bars?

Both excellent pubs. I was in the Halfway House (going down, not up) a few weeks ago.

Uber selling tickets for wrong date

Definitely seems to be something going wrong there! I have raised it to be looked into.

    Weekend first on CrossCountry

I can't find any mention of such a restriction on the CrossCountry website (I can't even find anything about weekend 1st at all!). National Rauil mentions no such restriction. I would take that as definitive. See https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ticket-types/tickets/xcu/

Delay repay - train too full to board

This hasn't got anything to do with EMR. They should claim Delay Repay from Northern. If there is nowhere on the online form to enter the details of overcrowding causing the delay, then they should email their claim in.

    Uber ticketing

I guess it's a bug in the Uber app. I'll report it.

    Uber ticketing

Thank you. How strange. To summarise: - you get offered (correctly) a £6.30 Anytime Day Return - when you get to the payment page the ticket price has myteriously inflated to £8.80 and a £2.50 discount has been applied, getting you back to £6.30 Is that correct?

    Uber ticketing

Could you do a screenshot or two please then I'll have a look? I don't have the £2.50 disciount and can't replicate this. Thanks

Ticket scanning / On-board sales commission

Don’t they receive a salary? Surely that counts as “money in it for them”?

    Weekend First upgrade TPE?

It's for three people, which the OP has omitted to mention.
