    TfGM Bus franchising

The 362 was rarely reliable under Arriva, as Arriva interworked the 362 with the 575, & the roadworks on the Blackrod By Pass which have been ongoing all summer (i'm not sure if those roadworks have finished) did for reliability.

Keir Starmer and the Labour Party

Remember when Labour & Lib Dems sort did that in the 97 election in Tatton, in order to get rid of the then scandal ridden Tory incumbent Neil Hamilton, they joined forces but rather than one party allowing the other a free reign, they introduced an anti corruption independent candidate (which...

    TfGM Bus franchising

The Monday to Saturday service was split at Wigan in 1995, the Sunday service still ran through until 2006

    TfGM Bus franchising

I didn't realize the 362 Wigan - Chorley has gone over to Go North West, i thought Arriva would have kept hold of the route & transferred it to St Helens depot.

Public consultation on Liverpool Bus Franchising is launched

Indeed, you can argue it's TFGM that have "stolen" Yellow from Merseytravel.:E If anything the Liverpool City bus franchising livery would be the livery on the Merseytravel fleet of Hydrogen deckers for the 10A that are in store at the moment.

The "bus culture" in your area

Yep, Bolton interchange, & Wigan bus station are now drive in, reverse out bus stations. I prefer drive in, reverse out type of bus stations, as the passenger concourse is on one level, making it easier to change buses, & the Wigan & Bolton bus stations are fully undercover for passengers too...

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

Well the Eurovision wrap on 777013 is over the windows making it hard to impossible to see out of the windows without getting eye strain, at least that wrap should be removed. I do loath any form of wrap when it covers over the windows

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

When are Merseyrail going to take the Eurovision wrap off from a couple of the 777s that have it on? It's bizarre to still see the Eurovision wrap still on the units when Eurovision was nearly 5 months ago.

    London Buses Discussion

Some road schemes haven't helped either, like closing to traffic the Southern end of the Aldwych, that could have been kept open for busses.

    National Express Coaches Discussion

Nothing in the way of coaches serve Banbury right now, i remember the overnight Blackpool - London service calling in at Banbury, no one ever boarded or alighted, & National Express dropped Banbury for Stratford Upon Avon as the calling point on that service For Banbury might be coach to Oxford...

Trivia: Services that are almost unchanged since deregulation

That's not quite right, in the late 80s, GM Buses (which was the main operator) extended the Evening & Sunday 582 to Newton Le Willows, & MTL Lancashire Travel 582 went St Helens - Bolton Here's the GM Buses 582 timetable...

Trivia: Services that are almost unchanged since deregulation

This is a tricky one, because of road changes (particularly in Town & City Centres since 1986), & some terminuses have moved too, with new bus stations built since 1986 Stagecoach 555 Lancaster - Keswick, the core route is still hourly & unchanged, Stagecoach have summer extras (which really...

Trivia: Services which are run by one depot, but could be run by more

Arriva 10, 10A Liverpool - St Helens could be operated by Green Lane depot too, but the whole route is operated from Arriva St Helens depot Arriva 47 Crossens - Liverpool & 300 Southport - Liverpool could be operated by Bootle as well as Southport depots Funnily enough in the early days after...

Bucks Free Press - Fare Evasion 6K

Yep, given what happened subsequently to the fare dodger using Stonegate (i know he was fired from his job, wasn't he struck off too), you'd expect the same thing to happen with this one.

Trent Barton: what happened to ‘the really good bus company’?

One issue with TrentBarton is their complete allergy to using double decker. Double deckers are needed on their busiest routes and other companies in the TrentBarton area have fleets of deckers, notably Nottingham City Transport, Arriva in Derby, Stagecoach, & some of the other independents. but...

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

It's to do with safety, their's a chance the batsman might not see the ball (even the white ball) being bowled at them through the rain, with the size of a cricket ball & how hard they are, fast bowlers hit 90 mph plus with their deliveries, even medium pacers get 70 to 80 mph, the last thing...

Trivia: Bus stations with confusing changes of stand for individual journeys

There is a couple of other routes that use Halifax bus station stand C in the evening, both depart either xx25 or xx30, & that 526 at 20.35, i don't know whether the 549 could be retimed in the evening to depart in that 50 minute gap, but still use stand C?

    Arriva national fleet number idea

Agreed, most passengers who use buses don't care, or are confused, what the bus fleet number is, as long as the bus turns up on the route they want to use. Feels the type of thread, lets see an issue when their isn't one & renumber things for the sake of renumbering things.

Preston to Liverpool Lime Street - 5 changes?

You'd be better off taking the Stagecoach X2 bus, Preston direct to Liverpool & only £2 single than following that itinerary, the X2 stops outside Preston station, & is hourly around xx15, & takes just over 2 hours, on a Sunday.

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

Bus LED display blinds that dim in daylight, i don't know if it's the tech, or how old the blind is, but i find it really annoying when bus blind is barely readable (& i have decent eyesight) because the blind has dimmed, but then the blind gets brighter after sunset.
