Season Tickets with two 'opposite' permitted routes: Can I pass non-stop through the origin?

At the risk of sending everyone off down a rabbit hole to prove me wrong, it's perhaps worth asking whether there are in fact any season tickets for sale where the scenario could occur. I'm not disagreeing that the scenario could occur in theory, but it seems to me that in practice for a 'loop'...

ADVICE ON AVOIDING PROSECUTION BY WEST MIDLANDS TRAIN FOR TRAVEL FRAUD

This is very much the right way to go. A solution may be to borrow the money from a legitimate source (bank, building society, credit union, family, friends: maybe a credit card will lend to you at a reasonable rate: could your national or religious community help you out?). But whatever you do...

    GTR-Witness Reciept

We seem to have overlooked this somehow - sorry about that. But I think this response should lead to GTR letting you settle out of court. Get it off to them, and see what they come back with.

What extensions should be made to the Merseyrail Network?

I don't think anyone is suggesting that an electrified / 777 operated Wrexham service would terminate at Bidston: once there it seems to me that the expectation has always been to head for Birkenhead and then maybe through the tunnel to Liverpool. The only reason the current diesel service ends...

What extensions should be made to the Merseyrail Network?

It seems to me that the 4 I have left above - and probably with the addition of Southport to Wigan Wallgate - probably will happen at some point. For Wrexham - Bidston, there's political pressure which may lead to funding, and for the others it's a matter of eliminating inconvenient...

16 year old son bought child ticket by mistake and has been issued a Penalty Fare

Given that the slip was issued at Wallasey Grove Road for a journey ending there, isn't its status as a ticket for travel irrelevant? Unless there was also a block on at Grove Road, I wouldn't expect there to be any need to hold a ticket to exit the station.

Fraud investigation for possible short fares

If you've driven today, I do hope you're not going to Staffordshire for too long: https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20109/parking/413/street_parking/4 tells us (my italics for emphasis) If you're more than 4 (or 2) hours you may be at risk of a parking ticket to add to your other woes.

    Avanti Refund issue

But as I read it, the Avanti train wasn't cancelled - the Cross Country train which should have connected with it was.

    Fraudulently claiming refunds

At the risk of spelling out the obvious, also beware of further contact from Trainline: it's Trainline who have been defrauded by the OP's friend, so it may well be Trainline who want to take the matter further.

    Avanti Refund issue

In fairness, OP said So it would seem that it was important to get to Preston at a particular time.

Max Fine cost for fraudulently commiting refunds?

Let's treat this as if it's a real world problem. We'd normally want to confirm whether the matter at stake was a refund (done honestly, you bought a ticket: you did not make the journey and claim the money back from the company that sold you the ticket. Depending on whether the journey was...

Caught using child's ticket - potential fraud case?

If you pay the £111.95 that will conclude the issue for the time when you were caught. But it's possible that now the railway know about you, they may go through their old records and be in touch with you about the previous times when you bought a child fare. Our usual advice is to get back in...

Fined on SWR for not producing a railcard

I believe that there is. Hopefully someone who knows for certain will be along shortly. It's beginning to look most likely to me that the most straightforward option will be to get ready to pay the £70.50.

Just been fined on a West Midlands train and need advice on what I should do

This is one of the reasons that it would really help to see what was issued. And that will let us see how much the OP is being asked to pay.

Fined on SWR for not producing a railcard

I don't think that will work - the question the railway will want answering is whether you held a valid railcard when you travelled. I don't know enough about railcards purchased through Trip. com to say when they became valid (time of purchase or time of activation?), but now you have...

Fined on SWR for not producing a railcard

If you pay the £70.50 in time (n.b. the clock stops for £70.50 rather than £120.50 while you've got an appeal in, but starts again if the appeal is rejected) that will be the end of the matter for this incident. But there's a possibility that now the railway know about you, they may look back at...

Just been fined on a West Midlands train and need advice on what I should do

Welcome to the forum. It would be really helpful if you could show us the paperwork you have been issued - make sure that you hide your name, address and so on as you probably don't want the whole internet knowing who you are and what you have done.

Fraud investigation for possible short fares

You should tell the truth. If you know that your journey was only between two adjacent stations, say so. If you know that you short fared, say that. If you are not sure, you need to think about what you usually did - you will know if you parked up near Jewellery Quarter most of the time, or some...

Fraud investigation for possible short fares

I'm still struggling with why you don't get the tram, which is more frequent and (as far as I can see) cheaper. Taking everything into account, I think your best option is to treat all the one and two stop rides as short faring.
