Thanks for that snippet of useful info. How long has that been in force?

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

No comparison, I would take the 745 every time..better comfort and ambience..more table seats that line up with windows. Better ride. Performance wise they are almost identical! I do prefer the external design of the Stadler train too.

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

What is becoming clear is how well the 745s perform on the road now to the point that they are having to be reigned back to avoid arriving too early. We have witnessed a variety of driving styles including: Full acceleration but running at lower maximum speeds I.E 90mph as opposed to 100mph ( on...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

I'm guessing the faulty 745 from last night did not make it into service today. Though reports that another 2 745's have been accepted including a Stanex unit.

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

Absolutely. None of the mainline services I saw yesterday was carrying any more than a dozen passengers or so. The regionals seemed to be as busy.

A single loco hauled set with 90004 on the front out today. The other diagrams fulfilled by 745s. 010 and 005 definitely in service.

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

I was indeed thinking about whether the Stansted 745s might be used on Mainline services?

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Any likelihood that a pair of 755s in multiple may be used on Norwich to Liverpool St duties from April if there are not enough 745s accepted and a shortage of 321s to deputise?

    Class 745 Stadler FLIRTs

Any more 745s likely to be accepted this week? How many in service today? Is it the planned 4 and 1 spare? There appeared to be two Stansted units at Norwich over the weekend - one at Victoria sidings - the other at Crown Point. Are they out on mileage accumulation yet?

How many 321s are required on a daily basis and how many are spare that can be used on Norwich services?

Trivia - Highest Power to Weight Ratio

As far as i understand, they are all now derated to 700 hp at the flywheel...220s and 222s are lighter than 221s as they have no tilt equipment Drivers reckon the longer consists accelerate better..though i have not seen that reflected in any recorded figures yet.

Trivia - Highest Power to Weight Ratio

That's only because my pal - who pens these articles- has not added the 755's yet. But he has been sent some data. So the 755's will be top of the table soon. I will dig out the data, but the 331 3-car is nowhere near a 755/3 on electric hp/t or acceleration. 4-car is 16.4 hp/t 3-car is 21 hp/t...

Trivia - Highest Power to Weight Ratio

I know you are referring specifically to the Class 800's and 802's. But not the Anglia Class 755's. It seems that the 5-car Class 802's deliver from around 9.4 to 8.4hp at the rail - as the traction output ramps down. The 9-car units being that bit heavier are slightly less 8.8 to 7.7hp/ton at...
