Greater Anglia New Passenger Information Screens

Cambridge North that has only been open two years, that had the very latest version of Infotec screens installed when opening http://infotec.co.uk/index.php?mact=CGBlog,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=61&cntnt01returnid=22 Are any other company using these screens apart from Abellio? Who are...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

Because I have had good trips on 156s too? If you think the Greater Anglia 156s are bad, you should have seen the 153s at the end, very unloved.

Is the snail out this morning?

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Today I saw a 755 which was operating off the overhead lines between Stowmarket and Ipswich and a 156 on there, although the later was sick. Another diagram, the one that does the 19:41 from Cambridge, has been cancelled for the rest of the night, but it's not one of the above trains. The 156...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

There's clearly something not right with it - it had similar problems on pretty much every single journey on it's diagram today, losing a few minutes between every station en-route and twice having to be turned at Bury from Ipswich because of accumulated late running on previous journeys...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Isn't the article talking about one single line that has a different signalling system to the other rural lines? You are aware that the problems have been going on over a number of lines which don't have the same signalling system as Norwich to Sheringham, yes? The Norwich to Sheringham...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

Saw from the other thread it is 156422, doesn't surprise me. The heating didn't work last time I was on it. I hoped that that would be the first to go to EMR. Just had a look at RTT and it's been consistently losing time all day on pretty much every run it has been on. Seems to lose at least...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Is the problem that the new trains are not cleared to run on the Peterborough line, or there are not enough staff to run these services? Surely an easy answer is to assign it 156s. There's a good few 156s running around today on lines that are cleared for 755 use, so either someone is poorly...

Have to say the electric acceleration on these is very impressive from a standing start. Just had power change at Stowmarket and really notice the difference.

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

It's operated from Bury to Ipswich and lost quite a bit of time again. Left Ipswich. Lost more time already and will no doubt drift again. Reason? Signalling system apparently.

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Latest from GA https://www.eadt.co.uk/news/greater-anglia-new-trains-cleared-1-6428610 You will note a change of tack now blaming lack of drivers being trained because of signalling issues but last week they said they had enough drivers and that wasn't a problem at all. It also doesn't explain...

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

The 12.20 Ipswich to Cambridge working is terminating at Bury now due to a train fault where it will be turned around. Obvious it was a train fault. Hope it's fixed soon and goes a bit faster too.

    Greater Anglia Rolling Stock Updates

Take a look at the 9.20 from Ipswich and 10.47 from Cambridge on RTT. Both services are losing time everywhere almost. Is that really all down to freight? Freight might hurt it getting out of Ipswich but there's some real slowcoach performance there between stations where I wouldn't expect...

Greater Anglia New Passenger Information Screens

The problem with these screens is they show less services and often some services are hidden and screens duplicate each other instead of showing the train they are supposed to. Tables of departure that used to show 8 trains a page are now showing two. It's possible to turn up at Ipswich now and...

Greater Anglia New Passenger Information Screens

Few more entries here from Ipswich Table of departures screen outside Ipswich station that shows a grand total of two services per page. The main hall has the first two trains duplicated.on the second screen rather than showing trains three and four. Then you have a massive screen that shows...

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

This morning still quite a few cancellations. Being announced as fault with signalling system non rather than signalling problems. Same on journeycheck.

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Sure I read somewhere that they rectified the fault but can't find it now?

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

On the platform screens it's worded a little different "Due to a fault with the signalling system." which seems to imply the problem is with the NR signalling system itself, rather than signalling in general.

Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Lack of units I should think is the problem here. Be even worse when some are being used on the Stansted route unless they manage to get a few more that haven't been in service, cleared for service in the next few days.
