The units on those diagrams change daily down to unit availability. The Victoria/Wigan and Oxford road services can literally have anything on.
The Liverpool - Blackpool and Liverpool - Piccadilly are usually 156's (but again subject to change)
Sorry that's not very helpful but that's...
There are 3 ready for traffic as discussed. However one has to be left spare in case a rescue is needed. So that's only 2 in service per day. However another is due up from Wolverton ready this week.
Staff memo just released. I'll not copy word for word but.
More 319s now coming to Northern.
156's to work in pairs on MIA - Blackpool services operated by TPE (Subleased off Northern)
Some 170's to remain subleased to FTPE.
Interesting times.
The 0338 and I'm lead to believe 1816 services from Liverpool to MIA and matching return workings will still be DMUs due to the work falling on lower link drivers. Couldn't have top link men getting up that early.
It's not just the paint that wants doing. They're having a full refresh inside and out, Brand new PIS installed and C6 exams. Plus the 2 in FCC colours are being used 3 days a week on driver training.
Yes Northern are itching to use them. Driver training for top link drivers at Lime Street...
Seating/storage layout is exactly the same as under FCC so if someone knows how good they were under FCC they'll be able to give you the answer to that!
Serco/Abellio have released a statement to the stock market and staff this morning that states they will NOT be bidding for the Next Northern franchise as a joint venture instead they are 'pursuing separate interests.'
Stock market announcement below.
Serco updates on UK rail operations...
A 142 is capable of rescuing a 150/156. If it was restricted to 20mph it will be because one or more safety systems had been isolated not because of the power of the 142.
If it is that a 150 is 0.02m wider than a 142 then it must be something to do with the way the body rides on the rails as...
Just returning to one of the original arguments. 142's are out of gauge as they are to WIDE to get through one of the tunnels on the return from Buxton. They are quite a lot wider than a sprinter class train.
Can't talk for HST's but Sprinters and Pacers do not need the brake in emergency to build up air. However (and isn't that word popular on the railway) if you activate the compressor speed up switch to speed up the engine revs in order to build air more quickly, the emergency brake will apply...
Myself and my group did some training last week using Northern units on the Monk Bretton loop. Namely 142066 and 153330.
We got photted several times by some pretty professional looking kit. I've found some of the photos of the 153 but can't find any of the 142. We're putting together a group...
I've already advised the OP twice to contact customer relations as they WILL have a log of non availability of debit card transactions.
Sadly we seem to be bypassing that point which could actually be the simplest solution.
You easiest and first line of defence is asking customer relations if they have a log of the card machines being down.
Northern have a log of every booking office failure on the network. If you can get them to offer up this information you have a pretty sound case.
