Ticket office staff had to un tick a box to access the advance fares for grand central. We found that out with...

Trivia: Stations where a calling service is longer than the platform

Eaglescliffe can fit Grand Central's HST sets. Even when they ran 2+7 sets. Like you say the rear carriage is un platformed at Thirsk on the UP line, not sure about the DOWN line.

Northern Steam services on the Settle and Carlisle

It still amazes me that Northern ticket offices don't know about the Settle and Carlisle day ranger as we all received the brief about the ticket and all the guidelines that went with it. Even we have printed off the original brief to take with us next week just in case. Really looking forward...

    Grand Central Pricing Shenanigans

There trains will be pretty rammed. We record passenger numbers getting off at eaglescliffe throughout the Thursday before Easter and it's between 75-100 and that's just one station, wouldn't like to think how many passengers get off at York, thirst and Northallerton. The 1918 Kings...

    Grand Central Sunderland CSA jobs

I would say go for it. Why not? If you get through the initial application they are hosting open days in December so I would say see what happens if you get through to one of those days you can decide for yourself what GC could be like to work for. I would hazard a guess that the staff lodge...

Northern units in the north east?

I'm sure the Connect service in the North East goes Middlesbrough-Newcastle-Carlisle (If they ever decide which way it gets to Newcastle). :) Very interesting to which units we get in the North East, like the sound of 156's & 158's.

    North TransPennine Changes (particularly Middlesbrough)
