An ex colleague of mine wants to know why the police were all over Southampton Central last night (20 July). I can't find any news references to anything going off but apparently there were armed response officers everywhere. Train searches and platform evacuations too. Info is second hand so...

:roll: I meant that as a general experience I preferred being in an air conditioned Mk 2 than anything else. Loads of room, windows always lined up and you didn't get a whack from the MBSO powering the train.

I'm Bournemouth, used to work in Southammpton which was good for freight. Branksome's always been good for odd workings.

I'm trying to get out to video and photograph the Wool sand trains and the Hamworthy stone trains. So far I've found out that the loaded stone arrives at Hamworthy at around 1300 and runs on a wednesday. Any more timings would be much appreciated.
