    Caledonian Sleeper Flexipass

Does anyone know - do journeys have to be booked before the end of the validity of the flexipass, or taken before the end? I.e, my flexipass runs out April 2022. If I book now for a journey in July 2022, is that ok?

    Dunbar to Berwick upon Tweed

Either way its a lot cheaper than the train, which is a shame!

    Dunbar to Berwick upon Tweed

Next Saturday (11th) I am travelling from Dunbar to Berwick-upon-Tweed. There are few direct trains and I hope to travel on the 11.29, arriving 11.52. The cheapest ticket seems to the the Anytime Day Single which is a slightly crazy £19.70 for a 20 minute journey. Is there any clever work-around...

East Coast Trains: When will tickets be on sale?

Ah ok, I’d presumed their pathw were dependent on the new timetable.

East Coast Trains: When will tickets be on sale?

Given the new timetable has been put off by a year it could be quite some time.

    SeatFrog?

I find the best way to use it is to immediately bid the maximum amount I am prepared to pay - that way I frequently get the upgrade straight away.

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

Ooooh yes, I did 'Voyager' from Exeter to Aberdeen and return in the late 90's - I remember it being rather good!

    Caledonian Sleeper

I think it might have been because there was no club car due to staff sickness and also no room service. I am loathe to complain because I’m on a flexipass so actually it was a bonus I had booked a club room with it before the deadline for the free upgrades came!

    Caledonian Sleeper

Yes that’s what I was thinking. Odd. I just kept thinking how crappy it would be to be then and see your train disappearing off without you at near enough midnight!

    Caledonian Sleeper

Because they had luggage and they were exclaiming ‘no no!’ as the train started to move!

    Caledonian Sleeper

Just off the ‘Glasgow’ train which today terminated in Edinburgh. Breakfast in my Club room was a grim flapjack. Not very premium! Other than that tho the bed was super comfortable and the shower great. As we left Euston we clearly left two people behind. They were dawdling and maybe unaware...

    Caledonian Sleeper

Same situation tonight - the Glasgow portion is going to Edinburgh. Sigh! However - good communication, got a text with full details including the fact we can stay in rooms till 8, ticket acceptance on Scotrail and links for delay repay.

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

You can even bring your own real glass rather than the plastic one Avanti will give you 'due to Covid'. (I got a very odd look from the guy serving wine in First when I asked if he could just pour it into my own glass).

    Avanti West Coast: Standard Premium

Is Standard Class out of the question for you? Can see returns for about £70 on a not very thorough search.

LNER "requesting" people wear facemasks 100% of the time on their stations and trains

ONS report that 65% intend on wearing them on public transport. TBH I find your tone here more aggressive than that of LNER. Quite why people get so worked up over wearing a small piece of cloth over their face is beyond me.

LNER "requesting" people wear facemasks 100% of the time on their stations and trains

The vast majority of the public continue to wear masks in indoor spaces. LNER are simply exercising good business sense by suggesting passengers continue to do so. I welcome their stance. I'd suggest that (as ever) the users of this forum are not representative of the travelling public.

    Scotrail diagrams

Thanks. Yeah that 2-hourly frequency is a right pain. Having to change at both Haymarket and Aberdeen because of it!
