Issues with XC's method of admending an Advance ticket for no admin fee online

With XC the tickets are not excessed, instead you buy the replacement ticket (through the Amend Booking option), and are then refunded for the original ticket. So TVM collection is fine as it's a new ticket. If you already hold the original ticket you'll have to post it to them before they'll...

Nice Thoughts From Commuters: Samaritans donation appeal

The Greater Anglia delay repay claim process online includes the option to donate the money from a successful claim directly to the Samaritans. Do other TOC's include this option as part of their claim process?

    Recent Jubilee Changes

The trick to avoid the 'herds of commuters' is to walk along platform 13 (which is not physically closed), and make use of the overbridge to access 14 & 15. I also think TfL could do with removing the glass sections at the entrance to platforms 14&15 which prevent full width use of the platform...

    Getting to London City Airport

Tap in at the barriers at Waterloo tube, and tap out at the standalone readers at City Airport DLR (at the bottom of the escalators). No intermediate taps required at Canning Town, and just do the same in reverse on the way back.

    LU Uniform - Shorts

Shorts can be worn by London Overground drivers, and possibly MTR drivers too as they also wear the TfL uniform. No requirement to carry trousers.

Polmadie Virgin Vacancies - Any drivers already work there?

Can I also query the annual leave situation, the ASLEF site says five weeks plus twelve floating days. How do the five weeks work, are they in blocks that rotate each year and can be moved about to suit the individual if the quota for the desired block has not been filled?

Top speed of various London Underground stock

For the ELL it's possible to briefly get up to 60mph (linespeed) between Anerley and Norwood Junction. Very very occasionally, a train may run at 70mph between Sydenham and New Cross Gate if it's switched onto the fast (misses out intermediate stations). Very rare though. Within the tunnelled...

    PRIV Oysters

The clerk at Stratford TfL Rail ticket office knew exactly what I was asking for, and duly obliged.

    PRIV Oysters

Not explicitly, but I did ask if he was agency staff (to determine if that was why he didn't consider himself part of LOROL), but the answer was no.

It's a 'no' from New Cross Gate also ... the clerk told me to go to a LOROL station!

    PRIV Oysters

I tried at the Barking c2c ticket office (as that's a station listed on the RSTL release) but was advised they couldn't do it; was told to go to a tube station. At Upton Park the CSA found three priv options to choose from, but wasn't sure which was correct so didn't proceed. Will try either...

Has anyone experienced any problems having the discount loaded at the listed stations, or tried to have the discount loaded at a tube station?
