I've found it very difficult to find decent info on the Central Line's online. The District Line's Wikipedia page gives a list as follows: Does anybody know where I might find equivalent information for the Central Line? Many thanks!

Pulling into Leeds yesterday I saw (I think) an EMT 156 (destination blind: Spalding) coupled to an EMT 158 hanging around outside the western end of the station. Anybody know what they're doing so far north?

That must be what I was thinking of. Funny that I've never noticed one on a Hull service before.

I'm sat on the 1342 Manchester to Hull, which is being worked by a 185. I thought these units weren't allowed to travel to Hull? I've certainly never seen one work this route before.

As an aside, I believe that Burley Park does have a credit-card-only TVM -- but I'm sure it won't sell a ticket originating in Headingley.

This particular 'TPE & Connections' journey already involves three different TOCs, so the idea that using it to travel on a non-TPE service is inherently problematic seems strange. If it were a 'TPE only' ticket, that might be a different matter.

The ticket is a Standard AP Single from Levenshulme to Aberdeen (TP & Connections), with reservations on the Piccadilly-Waverley and Waverley-Aberdeen legs. The recommended train is the 0719 from Levenshulme but I plan to use the 0711.

This is official policy now? Urgh. The Manchester Pic strategy, e.g. "Sheffield -- Local stopping service" for the Northern slow trains, seems far better.

I'm booked on the 0745 from Manchester Pic to Edinburgh tomorrow as part of an advance TPE & connections ticket to Aberdeen. I'm interested in what happens if the 0745 is cancelled (or my connection into Piccadilly is delayed), because the next TPE service from Pic to Edinburgh isn't until...

I've also seen Carlisle departures leave from through platforms. How many services are booked into platform 14? I see a Northern unit arrive there empty during the evening peak, but I don't know where it goes afterward.

The 158s are comfy enough for a four-hour journey from Manchester to Norwich. But I'd dread the journey far less if they had power points like ATW's 158s do.

And don't forget the EMT 158s.

But how does this interact with the Northern Hub plans for 6tph between Leeds and Manchester via Huddersfield?
