EMT 156/158 at Leeds

Pulling into Leeds yesterday I saw (I think) an EMT 156 (destination blind: Spalding) coupled to an EMT 158 hanging around outside the western end of the station. Anybody know what they're doing so far north?

Don't EMT use the Neville Hill depot as well as Northern?

When EMT first took over they used NL for heavy work such as engine/gearbox changes but once Etches Park was rebulit that work was done there. The refurb work on the 153/156 was done at NL so im unsure why a 158 would be there. I'm not back while next week so i cant find out either

I dont know if the 158 was sent to collect it due to route and traction knowledge fo avaliable staff? Dont know if its possible just putting it out there.

Its Derby mainline (ex MML) driver instructors that do the stock transfers and they sign all 15x units. The only thing i can think of is maybe a 153 was sent up to replace the 156 in the refurb program and the 153 had some sort of problem so couldnt be driven hence the 158 used to drag it up then returning with the 156.
