I've had mixed issues with Delay Repay, I found that Avanti West Coast were surprisingly easy to deal with but Southeastern will make you go through so hoops it was unreal.
However, the tickets I had with Avanti were standard off peak returns and the issues I had with Southeastern were with a...
I agree with this, since the Elizabeth Line has opened I've used it to travel up to London from Abbey Wood when I need to. Speed, Reliability but also the sensible TfL pricing for the fares make it a no brainer.
To get to the Elizabeth Line I need to take the bus at £1.65 but this is far...
Morning, seeing as SWtrains have yet to get back to me I'll ask here.
Got a off peak day return from Slade Green to Hilsea leaving at 10am.
It has restriction code UO.
Is it okay to break the journey briefly at Woolwich Arsenal on the outward trip?
Thanks.
Not a Zoo but Dreamland in Margate used to be an available destination. The tickets used to say Dreamland as a destination if I remember correctly and intending fun seekers would alight at Margate for the short walk to the theme park.
I believe the same ticket existed when the park was known as...
So I just read an online article about some guy who was checking out how quickly it took to go from East Croydon to Heathrow on the Elizabeth Line.
He said he took a train from East Croydon to Farringdon and changed to the Elizabeth line to Paddington, walked to the Elizabeth line platforms on...
Also, if you tapped in at Liverpool Street but "forgot" to tap out at Shenfield with your 1-6 Travelcard then you wouldn't be charged anything at all - But I do believe the system keeps track of unfinished journeys and I would never condone doing this at all.
I've no idea if Shenfield is gated...
I understand that the trains and/or staff will be out of position for the start of service on non strike days, but what I don't get it is why Thameslink struggles more than anyone else to get some sort of service operating.
It feels very much like the Kent branch down the Woolwich line to...
A few years ago before Dartford made it into Zone 8, there was an issue where if you purchased a paper one day Travelcard from Dartford to zones 1-6 that the barriers would take your ticket upon arrival back at Dartford despite the fact that the ticket had unlimited use of TfL bus services - of...
Actually, in some ways there is - with a period Travelcard on Oyster. I had a Travelcard with zones 4,5,6 on it and made the journey on a direct train from Woolwich Arsenal (zone 4) to Welling (zone 4) via Slade Green and was charged a pre-pay fare because even though the entire journey was...
Many years ago the Network Railcard offered the ability to upgrade to First Class for a £3 supplement - bargain if you heading from London down the coast. The only thing was there was no continuity with ticket clerks, some would give you a single £3 First Class supplement ticket to go with your...
I got a full refund of advance tickets for the strike day and was told they would refund for my return ticket even though it wasn't a strike day.
Avanti were really good and sorted it in two days.
After reading various posts about ITSO cards and that you can load a London one day Travelcard to them I took the plunge and ordered an EMR smartcard.
This arrived on Thursday and on Saturday evening I went through their web site to purchase a z1-6 one day Travelcard for today (Sunday) with my...
Just wanted to add that I requested a refund for an advance ticket from Avanti for one of the strike days on Wednesday, they replied back on Thursday asking for a pic of the tickets cut up and on Friday it was approved and refunded back to my card. Very speedy indeed so all credit to Avanti here.
This is the official response on Twitter from Southeastern
On your ticket how much percent discount did you get, if it was 34% then ticket would be ok as discount the same if you got more that 34% then you would need to cancel it and rebuy ^g
Unfortunately, I have to go to Birmingham on 23rd June and had already bought and picked up advance tickets a couple of weeks back for the journey.
My return journey is also on an advance ticket but on a non strike day being the 27th June.
I had both tickets on the same booking along with plus...
Just saw an interesting thread on Twitter where someone has bought a ticket using their Railcard but chose the wrong one at checkout.
Southeastern responded with providing the discount is then same for the Railcard held and the Railcard accidentally picked then the ticket would be ok...
