I make about 4 VTEC journeys a month. I currently have three delay repay requests pending. My outward journeys are always time sensitive, my returns ones less so.
However it's getting to a stage where i feel like I have to factor in possible OHLE issues, something i wouldn't have even thought...
Unless the driver started the working day at midnight and ended at 0930 it wouldn't be a problem.
99.9% of the time with schools and in all my time as a scheduler the driver clocks on 0730, does the school run, back to depot then either does misc work, council contract runs or is on a spit...
If the great repeal bill becomes law, I believe the EU regs will transfer. A lot will then depend on what colour the government will be.
i would be interested to know how EU regs work on mainland europe though

If you want to look at it in black and white, Spltting what used to be one through bus it to two (or even three or four in some cases) is no different to a driver doing 5 hours on three or four "normal" interworking services.
Now driving hours is another subject entirely, by splitting through...
sorry if i am repeating others . But I got an email from VTEC (via Ipsos) with a survey about the new catering offering they may introduce when the Azuma trains arrives.
My main takeaway from it (pardon the pun) is two course meals offered weekdays throughout the journey not just leaving the...
I presume like most bus stations a code of conduct exists where buses can only have certain time slots at certain stands with instruction to use layover bays if not departing for more than 5 mins etc.
It is therefore up to the local authority to say if too many buses are using it and the bus...
I find ARRIVA in Herts a through depressing operation to be honest.
50 mins down the road in Luton you see the good in Arriva, but Herts is awful. I imagine the margins are small, but at least look like you care.
From my experience its more "popular" in those areas where customers state the price of the ticket they want when they board "£1.30 please driver", rather than the destination they wish to go
Reading between the lines it sounded like they've got a load of crew marked as spare (more than before). They also remarked that some Tm's will tell the other crew what they are doing and some "leave it up to us"
A lot of conspiracy theories too "we know why they are doing this", i said "its...
I was on a VTEC service yesterday afternoon with a rather chatty member of staff. They were talking about the new catering crew regime and the problems with it and general crew/rota issues.
Didn't mention a ballot at all, just how things "would be sorted by the end of May"
A "Gateshead Team Valley" station on the East Coast mainline between Newcastle and Chester-le-Street could serve as a hub for the wider Gateshead area as well as access to Team Valley Trading Estate
The guard on the Harwich line will have to move pretty sharp and hope the card machine has a good signal as the the train doesn't have much time between stops and gets a fair few on
