    Buses in Oxford and Cambridge

As stated in a post above, Cambridge is quite dense. Most student halls are within walking distance of the city. So no need for loads of buses. The ones to the estates still operate on a Sunday and until midnight.

Glasgow flexi-ticket to use across different bus companies

Has anyone seen the price of a Zonecard? £68.10 all zones for one week. Compared to £37.40 on Merseyside £36.30 in GMPTE land (Not all Trams) £28.00 in Tyne and Wear £31.50 in Brum Even a 7 day zone 1-6 London Travelcard costs LESS than the all zone Zonecard in SPT. I know geography and...

    ECML delays 05/11

What are VTEC going to do? All the southbounds are bound to very busy anyway due to various other issues today. Taxis are out of the question as the local firms are too small. The station is hardly suitable for Intercity trains to stop at the beat of times, the BTP presence is unknown and they...

Why don’t more buses have on board stop displays (Yorkshire)

Sone operators make it work. Its one of those things that should be easy to install, but actually isnt So long as the bus has AVL then you just need a dotmatrix screen installed and the guys that look after the ticket machine tech stuff do the rest. It does cost more but i don't have the numbers

Stranded person and dead milage running

What if the bus operator makes some bus working changes and the bus goes dead to an outstation in the middle of nowhere instead of back to main town?

Go North East axes printed publicity (& have now reinstated it)

A suprising number. Go North East used to put leaflets on all its buses. If I had a penny for the amount of times the racks were nearly empty..etc If they had a suitable journey planner on its website and a proper app then it would not be a problem..but they don't. You will have to "know" in...

Examples of poor / good transport integration

For me integration is about the small things as much as the big things. Bus operators are seriously missing a trick not having leaflets in Rail Stations. There are exceptions to this like Nottingham and Reading. I visited a city in the east of England recently. Buses to all sorts of places...

Examples of poor / good transport integration

Nottingham is a great city for transport that gets many things right.....apart from the fact you can only get a direct bus to the station from the south of the city
