    Snow Service Changes 25/02/18 onwards.

What do you think they are checking the line for?

    Snow Service Changes 25/02/18 onwards.

I don't think the NR bloke in Scotland should have tweeted about the ECML being open. VTEC are already trying to manage a difficult situation. Last thing they need is housands of passengers decending on Waverly with no trains planned

    Snow Service Changes 25/02/18 onwards.

Looked like single line working and/or a non stop shuttle Purley/Caterham was being arranged when I bailed back at Purley.

My driver on 2Y41 doing a grand job keeping folk informed (i will contact southern officialy). Going to try and go downhill back to Purley and making some progress at a good speed. Caterham branch is done for.

On delayed 1419 London Bridge to Caterham. Ground to a halt just after Kenley. Its just about moving now. Some interesting sights and sounds coming from beneath the train as we limp towards Whyteleaf. Driver not hopeful ..

    Snow Service Changes 25/02/18 onwards.

I listen to both sides and always come back to the same question when this sort of event happens. What happens if the forecast is correct and NR/TOCs try and run a normal service?

Norfolk Green (Now Stagecoach Norfolk) to be binned

Norfolk Green may have been award winning, but so was Reays and Western Greyhound. History is littered with former operators that looked good on the surface and in those glossy bus magazine spreads when in reality it was a pile of rubbish.

    Sunderland Hidden Platform

Sorry, I thought you meant the shops next to the north of that. WH Smith, Poundland (above where the National Rail platforms are now) That awful concourse has been there as long as I have known

    Sunderland Hidden Platform

I am trying to remember as i used to travel from the open air station before it was done. I would say at some point between 1999 to 2004. I can't recall if they built on top of the covering just before Metro got there or just after - it was in that period though

    Accidental Branding you liked.

i like the VTEC coaches that still have East Coast "purple" streaks under the windows

    Grim British Railway Journeys

Not helped by Circumvesuviana. It must be the worst Metro system in Europe.

Which is your favourite railway line in the UK and why?

St. Ives Branch. St. Ives Bay left my jaw on the floor. I will never forget the view as the train made its way towards St. Ives.

    Grim British Railway Journeys

Hartlepool to Stockton is as grim as it gets. Pacers, Chemical Plants, Mad Max landscape and oddly coloured pools of water

VTEC Remove 1st Class Quiet Coach

I don't mind to be honest. Coaches L and M are pretty quiet anyway. Its hardly like getting the 2213 York to Leeds pacer on a Saturday night...

    Caledonian Sleeper discussion

wow. that is quite a hike. Thank goodness i booked in September for March this year for the sum of £140 by myself on the Fort Bill

New Transdev Cityzap services registered (and now cancelled)

I used the service today as I actually needed to travel between Leeds and Manchester anyway and i wasn't time sensitive. Lost 15 mins due to the weather on the M62 - thank god the heating works! Sadly I wasn't left thinking "wow" though. It just felt like any other Express bus you see up and...

First Essex major changes in February

Re Essex Changes: The 42A Airport trips run through to Galleywood again - asking for trouble with regards to late running. Almost lost in the shuffle is 4 buses an hour between Braintree and Chelmsford - so not all bad
