I thought i should post here instead of like creating a new thread but. Its concerning PLatforms 1 and 2;
How long have platforms 1 and 2 been out of use? I remember platform 2 having postal trains when i was younger (early 1990s)! Im guessing they been out of use from passengers since 70s?
Whatever happened to the proposed year round services to Okehampton. The Sunday rover service still operates on Summer Sundays. However there seems to be no word on the proposal for NR to serve the station year round. FGW stated as far back as i think 2008 that they were looking at reinstating...
Its a shame they arent ordering a compulsry order on the old Tavsitock North Station. Is there a reason why? Trackbed built on?
Im guessing the new station would be a single platform newly built station? Which would be a shame as it would lack character.
Well me and a few friends want to go to Cardiff from Plymouth for day out, to do some shopping etc etc. However i have looked at prices and its like £48.00 return. Thats too expensive for us. Is there any way of getting cheaper tickets. As i remember getting tickets Plymouth to Paddington for...
Shillamill tunnel and viaduct are beautiful structures, its a shame they ahve been forgotten about. Hidden Gems. Would be fantastic to seem them restored and reused!
Could the opening of Tavistock lead to the Closure of Gunnislake and Calstock though?
Is there a obligation as to why South West Trains, is names after "south west". When its services dont actually serve anywhere in the "traditional" south west area apart from Exeter. To me the south west is Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. I know it does fliter into this area. But its main...
I am little confused at High Speed.....
Is the High Speed 2 a completely newly build railway line? Or is it using existing lines?
Would the HS2 track be only used by High speed trains? For example a normal non HS2 service could enter the track for part of its journey?
Thanks for that! I didnt see they new speakers, i was rushing to Platform 5 lol.
I think that subway needs a lick of paint or a refurb. What does the 2nd phase include? just the things i mentioned above?
Is there any update on this yet?
I heard someone on train yesterday say "Next year we will be able to go striaght through to Tavistock on the train, as they building a new rail line there"
I mean seriously doubt that, but good to see people know about such things.
Went there yesterday. Work seems to have randomly stopped.
No new toliets
No new departure boards
No improvements bar the extention of the front.
Thoose screens need to go fast, had help old woman fidn her train as she couldnt see what it said, neither could i for part of it. Blurry and faded.
Im travelling up to Exeter SD from Plymouth on Saturday 28th Jan. Is it much cheaper to be booking on the day as to buying it few days in advance?
Last time i went it was £5.00 return, is it arounf the same price still?
Saw this article.
It seems the Governmanet want to reduce franchises to 6 year deals/10 year deals. And here in the south west there is concern that such a chnage will be a negative thing for the Greater Western Franchise.
Also critcises the past Governmant for there part in the shambles...
Saw the below video which was taken in 2007, and wandered if the track between Plymouth Friary and Mount Gold Junction is still intact just like the video, or has it been lifted.
