    352g

Hi All, Can anyone shed any light on the nature of 352G which just passed Bolton le Sands? Very dark and grainy on Railcam - looked to be possibly 3 vehicles with some lighting in part of one. Described as ... 352G (PX) : Class 3 - Specially Monitored Train. SCHEDULE NOT FOUND ON RAILCAM...

Busy train services where they're the only one of the day

I used to get this service and did wonder what might happen to anyone unable to board for whom it was their only train home. Why not have one of the usual Knottingley services at 17:03 (or thereabouts) and run the Goole service at 17:33? It does seem odd that the frequency drops to every...

    Your 'Perfect' Train

Anything with decent seats to sink into and a view out of the front. Like the first class in the old 1st Gen DMUs. The guard once let me sit in first looking out of the front when I was 9 - best day of my life for several years

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) First Class service

Am I just unlucky but the past 3 times I have travelled back from KGX to God's own county the evening dinner service on East Coast has been unavailable - twice (including tonight) because of electrical problems and once because of plumbing. On none of the 3 occasions was this flagged up...

New High Speed Train? ('Timed for 168mph max')

This schedule amused me. Who needs HS2 if Pacers can travel at 168mph?

Routing query 1D36 2330 Kings Cross to Leeds

Thanks - but for 1D36 at night there won't be many landmarks to see! Out of interest what do you see from the front end at night? Do the headlamps illuminate a significant distance - they certainly never look that bright.

Routing query 1D36 2330 Kings Cross to Leeds

Can anyone explain why 1D36 from KGX to LDS gets routed via Pontefract and into Leeds on the midland line instead of more directly via WKF like all the other East Coast services? This seems to happen every night so can't be a temporary engineering issue. Thanks.

OLE problem on ECML tonight (20/08/15)

We did make it to London - though on the 09:29 from WKF as the 08:58 along with so many others was cancelled. Got there at about 13:25 instead of 11:00 - but we got there. Special mention for the train crew who were great in difficult circumstances - thanks to you all!

OLE problem on ECML tonight (20/08/15)

Does anyone have an idea of the likelihood of this problem betweeen Peterborough and Grantham not being fixed by morning? (I realise it depends on many factors but is there anyone "in the know" out there?) I am due to travel to KGX from West Yorks in the morning. Cheers

What is this train 5Z40 through Woodlesford?

Whilst waiting for a train this morning and looking on RealTime Trains I noticed that 5Z40 was due to pass Woodlesford on it's way from Neville Hill to Monk Bretton loop. According to RTT it then was due to sit there before making the return joiurney as 5Z41 about 3 hours later. Just curious -...

    Validity Code 2V

Apologies if in the wrong place - but this seemed most appropriate. Can anyone shed any light on this code - 2V? My daughter told me she had bought an open return WKF to BRI but now says it's not valid at the weekend only Mon-Fri (return portion) as it has code 2V. It is clearly not an open...

Thanks very much for the reply. I thought it looked a bit like that sort of thing.

    Somewhere outside Leeds station

Apologies if the answer to this is elsewhere ... but on the approach into Leeds from the Midland line there is a triangular area down to the left closed off by a gate. There appears to be a fenced off section (which almost looks like a garden) within this area with a plaque or something in the...
