For journey 1 what was your ticket, and did you catch the wrong train taking you further away from your destination? For journey 2, what journey were you making, and what ticket(s) did you hold (i.e. what was your start and finish station)?

There's not much you can do. Contacting them without knowing the case reference number (which would be given in the letter, so you won't have one) would only complicate things - they won't find it easy to match your letter with your case without the case reference. There is always the chance...

That's good to hear. Have you considered sending a similar letter to your train operator - probably GNER? I'm sure that they would be pleased to hear of a positive experience rather than a complainr!

When you post your letter, send it 'Royal Mail Tracked 24' - you need to do this at a Post Office or sub Post Office. This way, you have proof that they received the letter. Other 'Signed for' options are available, but Tracked allows you to follow its progress.
