For big groups, each route has to pay a small contribution to the group's CEO salary (which is probably 10 times the salary of the small owner,) plus there is the cost of HR departments (rhe small owner may do his own HR), H&S etc etc likewise.

I imagine Siemen's production lines are booked months and years in advance, with components being sourced in line with the needs of the production line. If you pause the TfL trains, a contract for another operator can't just jump the queue to keep production lines running.
If I was a passenger, I would not lle to sit beside a blank wall and not be able to see out. If they are beside the disabled spaces, then wheelchair users would nit have any option but to sit there. Not very welcoming.
