Would have been nice to see, but it's been postponed until next May in light of Shoreham. Might have time to strengthen the footbridge by then! Can't see footbridge strengthening or the show itself happening myself.
Try telling the banks that !!!!!
Who paid for the billions of (W)Bankers debts when they came begging because their dodgy deals went t!ts up ? And still get a massive bonus while we are told to buckle down and help the country out in a time of crisis !!! :-x
Great to see that extra trains can be run for a League 2 derby even though the direct trains take longer than the normal services! Hopefully a win win (GC and Hartlepool) :D
While waiting at a not very busy station on the Durham coast for a down train, there was someone sitting at the end of the up platform with his legs dangling over the edge, bottle in hand and carrier bag next to him. My train duly arrived and then crawled past the person sat on the up line. He...
By chance saw this

leaving Middlesbrough from a distance. Tailed by a DRS 47 and made up of Pullmans. Returned to Heaton. Why Castleton Moor?
In a way, shows the short sightedness of so called planners. Who would have predicted the Metro extending, Grand Central and coal/biomass freight. Still a bit of a bottleneck at Hartlepool. Would love to see the second platform back in use.
.................thanks to their generosity, I now have a free day pass. All because of a delayed train. 40 minute late for my 5 minute journey !!
I'm going to take the day off work and exploit as much of their network that I can. Looking for Hartlepool - Carlisle - Leeds - York -...
Bit of a pincer movement for Hartlepool.:evil::(
Services to Middlesbrough and services to Sunderland via Newcastle! Hartlepool must be a big earner for Grand Central so hopefully they won't get squeezed out of the market.
Hartlepool hasn't got a lot going for it (especially after today's result) but with the Rat Race and the Trainstop cafe the station is definitely on a winner
Just look at the official airport site and it makes sad reading. 3 arrivals and 3 departures in the next 24 hours. And passengers have to pay a £6 fee just to use the airport. Its doomed.
As for getting there, it states the nearest rail station is Darlington, 7 miles away. No mention of...
The Tall Ships in Hartlepool in 2010 was an excellent bit of planning for a major event in a relatively poor rail served town. The main complaint that could be heard was the fact that there was only one toilet in the station to cater for the several thousands that attended !!!:)
I am only just getting into Realtime Trains, but what is this?
STP pass Doncaster Royal Mail Terml 652C ZZ Port Clarence (Gbrf) 1902½ 1902
Is it a regular working? How much other traffic works the branch into or out of the old ICI plants at Billingham? :(
Steam man tho I was (am), I used to look in at Hartlepool on the way to work in the morning and see the Class 31/2 (Brush type 2/3's) on the sleeper from the deep south! Seems like yesterday :D
