.................thanks to their generosity, I now have a free day pass. All because of a delayed train. 40 minute late for my 5 minute journey !!<D

I'm going to take the day off work and exploit as much of their network that I can. Looking for Hartlepool - Carlisle - Leeds - York - Hartlepool. Is there any more I could squeeze into the day ?

Grateful of any constructive ideas and timings etc

York-Hartlepool direct isn't Northern.
I've made Newcastle from Manchester before so it should be easily doable!

You could quite easily fit a trip down to Sheffield in - down from Leeds via Wakefield and up to York via Moorthorpe and Church Fenton. There are no time restrictions on the day voucher so you can start as early as you want. If you're feeling really adventurous, you could spend 4 hours going round Cumbria (via Ravenglass), down to Lancaster and then to Leeds via Burnley.

When I used my first one, I figured out an itinerary backwards, looking at the last train to get me home from Preston, what time I'd have to be in Preston for, etc etc.

Last one I did (starting by bus from Peterlee) was Durham to Newcastle, Newcastle-Carlisle, Carlisle to Lancaster via Barrow, Lancaster- Morecambe - Leeds, Leeds to York then back to Hartlepool using Grand Central. Easily doable and well worth shelling out for the York Hartlepool section.
