Physically HartlepooL has 3 platforms, but only two accessible and Platform 2 is only used on Sundays for the terminators from Darli.........I'm sorry I can't bring myself to type the full name of the place !!!!:lol:

Maybe not engineering works, but 'normal' trains into and out of Waterloo may have to take second place while the glory days of the last weekend of steam in 1967 are recreated.......that was a Waterloo Sunset :D

Splitting hairs (or roads), the up platform at Seaton Carew is accessed from Station Lane, while under the bridge to the down platform it is Seaton Lane :)

It doesn't seem that long ago that there were tangerine signs pointing the way to the Scarborough train platforms.........wish I could have rescued one :cry:

While the buildings didn't survive, the land and footprint of West Hartlepool (51C) is still visible on the down side, although overgrown. The concrete radial roads of the roundhouse are still in place and can clearly be seen from the train.

Thanks for that Spartacus, and the other forum members who have courteously pointed out the differences in Easter Sunday shopping within the UK...............but to be called a 'liar' and 'dishonest' by a certain individual is somewhat of an overreaction and not what I would want to see cast...

So, on Easter Sunday all the shops are closed and there are very few sporting fixtures and a 'normal' Sunday service runs. Boxing Day the retail world is madness and there are loads of sporting events all over the country, yet hardly any trains run.....doesn't make sense to me :|

Sorry, but not on a Sunday though when the Darlington trains run, they use the bay platform 2. The Rat Race is on platform 1 :D
