Hest Bank, long closed and not really a beach but it was right next to the sea. It is the only place on the WCML where the coast is visible.

48773 has come over Copy Pit from Burnley and is seen turning right at Stansfield Hall, round the soon to be reinstated curve towards Todmorden station and the Calder Valley line to Rochdale.

Balloon 701 was packed when I saw it in Fleetwood on Bank Holiday Monday.

Main line test run today (14 May) reported 7mins early at Settle Junc.

I too visited the line in 1973, twice. Had some super runs behind the 012s and also enjoyed one or two footplate rides. Wonderful memories.
