    A 12'' long piece of concrete smashed through the firemans side front window of 44871 during the climb to Copy Pit. Fortunately no one was hurt and BTP have been informed as the incident is thought to have been deliberate.

    I used to travel to Heysham in 1968 on the 'Belfast Boat Express' from Manchester. This was the last steam hauled named train in the country and worked by 'Black 5s' from Carnforth depot. Incidentally,I have an exact replica of an 'Ulster Express' headboard for sale if you are interested.
