With a company such as Northern rail will they be very little Differences between links other than shift times maybe being a little better? E.G All Links sign all routes?

Will the crew diagram for a particular service change depending on the link? E.G if link 1 worked a service on Monday but link 2 worked the same service on Tuesday would that mean the servcies the train crew have worked prior or maybe will work later in the day may be different?

Right from what i can gather a link is a basically train crew rota? But i don't quite understand how they work. Do some links only work some routes? and do some links cross with other links E.G the 11:00 service one days is worked by one links and then different the next day? Thanks in advance:)

As far as i know they have always been via Stoke. I am pretty sure that they only started going via Crewe when XC took over from virgin and they got rid of the services that went down the WCML via Preston, instead of going via York.

yeah i see where you are coming from but TPE would not be able to only allocate it on the Manchester-Hull route. it would end up on any of the diagrams that are booked 185 on TPE's Network.

On Northern rails network i would says it is between Buxton and Workington i can't imagine either of them being very big. Something tells me that Carlisle is not the smallest but is definitely quite small too.

Any idea of when 185108 will lose its vinyls? I mean i think it makes the unit look quite good, its just it is a bit outdated now!

How much work do Pic crews have to the west E.G. Liverpool, Warrington and preston? I mean i know that they sign Liverpool via Warrington but i thought most of the Oxford road-Lime street train were worked by Vic or Lime st crews? Am i right in saying that most of the work west of pic is...

i have to say i do feel that Liverpool should have some more direct connections to places. maybe train's to the southwest, Wales and Scotland? currently you have to change at Birmingham, Warrington or Preston to get to these places.

I would like to see XC run along the North Wales line maybe Nottingham-Llandudno instead of Liverpool. which would then give a free path for another TPE to run to Liverpool maybe if the Nottingham service where not running the route.

So a guard from a diffrent link each day?

If say the 11:04 to Crewe was a guard in link 4 would that mean Monday to Friday the gaured will always be from link 4 or will it change depending on what day it is?
