not sure if it’s the right forum but can anyone tell me the most westerly station on the GWR mainline that falls into a London travel card?
I can see zone 6, but not sure if any further zones apply?
Thanks
planning on popping up to London on Wednesday to do an hour or so on the 313s.
Is it just a case of hopping from one station to the next ( they are every 5/10 mins? ) outbound and then the same inbound - is this the best way?
Or is there a better way to get as many as possible in a short space...
3 hours - want to fit in Clapham Jcr, Stratford ( is it worth it and which platform? ) or am I better off just sat on Liverpool St
Was also thinking of willesden ( again is it worth it )
I’ve got a season ticket from A Cardiff valleys station to Newport.
I’m going to Bristol today.
Can I just get a ticket from Newport to briston on the train or do I have to buy in advance from the ticket office in Cardiff or break my journey at Newport?
Not sure if this is the right place to post - but does anyone know the "order" of coaches for these trains?
For example - Cardiff > Paddington always ( nearly ) has Coach A at the London end and Coach K at the Swansea end.
Not sure if I'm in the right place, but...
Is there a map somewhere that shows London Rail lines overlaid over a proper map - not one of those underground type diagrams?
Thanks
Ok, so a bit about me first.
Started spotting in the 70's, loved Westerns & Peaks started bashing late 70's then gave up late 80's early nineties but always kept an interest.
Recently have been working next to Cardiff Central so started logging numbers on an excel spreadsheet and then as things...
If travelling on an IET I record as haulage only the set I'm travelling in for mileage, but also seperate if out between diesel and electric.
Anyone else do anything any different?
Years ago you could be platform tickets or on some stations just walk up platforms without barriers.
Can you still do the same at the main termini such as KX, StP, Vic, Waterloo, Liv St etc...?
I'm up in London next week and was planning on doing a whistle stop tour of a few stations.
Can't remember the exact details but I believe it was Fielding and Watts Railtour.
Cardiff - Brum 2 x 37
Brum Class 84 to stafford or somewhere near
Then there was a Class 40, 08 pair of 20s
Finally back to New St with a 47 back to Cardiff.
Any details would be greatly appreciated!
Anyone else seen the advert for diabetes lottery on C4 or C5 - right at the end on a platform there’s a br blue class 45/46.
Anyone recognise where this was filmed?
