I listened to the podcasts but they seemed to focus on the potential for hydrogen and didn't really talk about the issues that we have had in the UK and how these will be overcome. These seem to be around fuelling. It would be good to understand what is being done to overcome these challenges...
Source is post #1419 - the freedom of information release by TfGM. It doesn’t say which body style they are though just that they’re E400s.
Must admit I assumed the 31 were the MMCs from the 11798-80 batch that were used in Tranche 2 depots by Stagecoach (since then 72 of the batch have been...
Do you know if these are part of the 123 ordered by Tfgm that we assumed were all for Metroline, the additional order for 20 (see the Tfgm freedom of information response in post #1419) are an entirely new order ?
Just crunching the numbers on Metroline's fleet.
At the moment (looking at the data on bustimes website - which I know isn't 100%),
Ashton has 85 deckers (+ 4 single deck)
Hyde Road 166 deckers
Sharston 134 deckers
Arriva Wythenshawe has 29 single deck.
Total requirement is therefore around...
A lot of the new hydrogen buses for metrobus seem to be parked up at Swindon depot. Presumably it will be a while before they see service if the fuel issues haven’t been sorted out ?
First haven’t got a great track record in winning franchise tenders. They haven’t won much in Manchester, sold their London operations a long while ago and watch Go Ahead win in Cornwall and Dublin. So not surprising they are looking at other revenue streams.
The latest papers for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority meeting says that TfGM have agreed to buy 72 E400MMCs from Stagecoach - they are less than a year old and to Bee Network spec - so presumably from the 11798-880 batch. They are to replace 18 Yellow School buses from Tranche 1 and...
Presumably there was a reason why the non standard Volvos were ordered for Stagecoach Scotland East in the first place ? They seem to be quite high mileage (done more than 500,000 miles each) so maybe that has also come into Stagecoach’s thinking on getting rid.
https://www.uk-buses.co.uk/fleetlists/stagecoach.php is quoting the new E400 City's as being numbered 11881 to 11930. If this is accurate then the order is for 50 (not 59) - which makes a bit of sense as there were 50 Enviro 400's shown in the Freedom of Information request as being ordered by...
That should speed up the 130 quite a bit then. Currently takes 1hr 20min from Macclesfield to the Airport as it winds its way round Wythenshawe and Heald Green.
Apologies if it's been stated elsewhere on this thread - I must have missed it. The attachments in post #1419 which show the new vehicles ordered for the bee network include the following bought by franchise operators:
59 x Enviro 400
4 x Midi Enviro 100
20 x Streetdeck Ultraliner
Does anyone...
