The 1205 service from Glasgow to Liverpool was just departing Carlisle today when it came to an abrupt halt. The train then made very loud hissing noises as if air was being released. This happened three times. Does anyone know what might have been the problem?

Both the 0954 and 1054 Liverpool to Newcastle services were cancelled at York and Stalybridge respectively, due to problems with the traction equipment. This seems strange as they were both 802s which you would not expect to fail. Can anyone shed any light on the matter?
