We walked from Plockton village to Duncraig Station and back again in 2018 as part of our exploration of the Scottish railways. The walk along the road from the village to the start of the path is quite steep uphill. There are also many paths, so route finding is not trivial. We took about 3.5...
Just in case it is useful for a future reader, the 8 minute 'unofficial connection' at Crewe was a piece of cake!
The TfW train from Manchester to Crewe was very busy (but we got a seat). The West Midlands Railway train from Crewe to Euston that we are currently on is quiet. We've even managed...
Thank you very much everyone. I've used all your strategies, but decided to go the flexie ticket with the tip that Kite159 gave. I think 8 minutes should be enough to change at Crewe even though it isn't official timing.
I like the prices you found Watershed, but alas they arrive a little later...
Thank you very much everyone, that is very helpful. As luck would have it, I need to go to Frankfurt in the Autumn. Perhaps I'll get lucky.
I'll look at FR24 and the flyertalk forum.
Thank you Watershed, that is really helpful. I'll decide what ticket to buy tomorrow.
Finally, do you have any idea why I missed out on Advances? I've been looking in a weekly basis for at about 12 weeks. Do they normally sell out in a day or two?
Good morning everyone,
Having never flown on an A380, this thread caught my interest. Are there still any short haul A380 flights?
Finally, can anyone reccomend a website which shows whic aircraft is used on each route (perhaps something like Real Time Trains but for flying).
Many thanks in...
Good morning everyone,
We need to get from Manchester to London on the afternoon on Sunday 3 April. I've been looking for advance tickets since January and there have been none on the direct Avanti trains. Is there something I'm missing? Perhaps engineering works?
A backup plan is to get the...
Good evening,
I've searched the forum but haven't found the answer to my question. The closest I could find was this thread, in which a similar plan to mine was considered acceptable.
In short, I have a return Northern complimentary pass. I was planning on doing Manchester to Carlisle...
Literally anyone would be a better PM. With the important exception of Jeremy Corbyn. I can't even remember who I voted for at the last election, but it was with a certain sense of disquiet and distaste.
I think, even after all these years, it's still Nemesis for me, with Swarm at Thorpe Park a close second.
I personally would very much recommend Blackpool Pleasure Beach, on the proviso you go on the right day (although the same applies to Blackpool in general if you get my gist). When we...
May I second (or third) Whitefield which has been mentioned here. We are very happy here, especially with parks and woodland to walk in. There are some lovely, albeit pricey houses in Stand.
Another option would be Greenfield. Lovely views and walks possible from the front door.
According to the Guardian, Twitter has locked his account for 12 hours over three particular tweets. I think the lock becomes a permanent ban if Trump dies not delete these tweets.
