I agree that assessment first makes sense, at least to me anyway. Other safety critical roles are assessment first, jobs like dispatcher. Not sure why this is different.
I’m currently based at Central as a TE, like working here, have worked at this depot since I started in the railway. Wouldn’t...
Not really sure the ins and outs of it, some haven’t even heard back regarding their interview. (We had interview first then assessments)
Mines is for Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street. Thanks for the good luck wishes. Not feeling confident, not to be dramatic.
They’re just starting the internal assessment process for Conductors, have mines tomorrow morning. A lot of staff haven’t even heard back with an assessment date yet.
Interesting developments. I wonder what RMT will do? Hopefully a mutually acceptable decision to end this situation.
Will be a weight off of the mind when this is over.

Yes. The conditions impacted the Conductor grades more than most and were deemed as not acceptable.
The feeling...
I am a TE for Scotrail, I read this email yesterday and assumed that the downtime meant my rest days. That's how I've interpreted it. Me being spare isn't downtime. It's working.
I don’t actually know, we receive text updates and the line used was:
”I am writing to advise that Abellio Scotrail failed to table a meaningful offer at today’s pay talks. The company made a reckless offer of 2.2% dependent on a raft of unacceptable cuts including booking office closures. This...
Yes, because of the conditions attached to the offer. One of which was that booking offices would be cut in the process. Well done to RMT for rejecting this.
Some positive news emerging that Scotrail has opened talks regarding pay deals as of yesterday. The ballot for 10 day continuous strike action during COP26 closed yesterday, very soon afterwards Mick Hogg Tweeted to say that talks had started.
Hi everyone,
I have had good news that I’m to take the relevant assessments for the above noted job next Wednesday, 18th November.
This involves:
Safety concentration and attention test
Mechanical comprehension
Technical understanding
Visual estimation
Are there any materials that anyone...
I thought it might take that long.
Makes me feel a bit uneasy, what if something goes wrong with the whole thing and you've left a secure job that you've been in for years for a conditional offer? ARGH!
As I said, I hope that I am wrong but interviews have started and they haven't invited you to complete the online tests which was around 3/4 weeks ago now. This is the step before interviews.
Keep applying mate. I have been trying for years and years myself. Only recently have I gotten past the...
Hi mate,
Please don't quote me as definite on this one but I would say that you've probably been unsuccessful unfortunately. They started interviews for this position during the week just there.
