For the results? The majority are there and then, the urine test was about a week, roughly.

    Ticket Examiner - ScotRail

“Spare” is someone who is on standby in case of disruption to services, staff unable to get their minimum rest etc. For example, I’m due in at 0830 and change trains at 0840 for my next run but train is running late. I’d let the manager know and they’d then send a spare member of staff down to...

    Ticket Examiner - ScotRail

That's the depot I'm based in, good place to work as I've mentioned in this thread before. Have heard the new diagrams since the timetable has changed are pretty full though and days are busy. Certainly working for your money but TE is a good grade to come into the railway, good money, good job...

    Ticket Examiner - ScotRail

Which depot have you applied for? Don’t have the base roster to share as it contains staff names, sorry. Annual leave allowance is 4 weeks - doesn’t rise with length of service. Staff advised of their leave each November. Broken down into blocks, 1 week for spring, 2 weeks for summer, 1 week...

    Ticket Examiner - ScotRail

If you're external, you'll start at Atrium Court for your initial induction training, then your revenue training. You'll be given uniform during this time (It might be delivered to your home depot prior to this and you should be notified - don't hold your breath on this though), just attend in...

ScotRail - Conductor Recruitment and Discussion

I didn’t pass mines the first time and really hammered the preparations the next time round. You only get two attempts at the assessments and you can’t apply again unless the tests they use are changed, be mindful of that part. A career in the railway is still very good, even if it’s not as a...

If you have a windows based computer, you can download the Group Bourdon tool from this site (found in the driver assessment thread) and change it to SCAAT. If you can, I’d recommend printed them off and practicing on paper. I did exactly this above and passed it second time round after...

ScotRail - Conductor Recruitment and Discussion

I would recommend even getting a job as Gateline within the railway, one of the best jobs I ever had. Loved it. (Now a Conductor after starting on the Gates, then on train as a Ticket Examiner)

Disappointing but you have passed the assessments and these are valid for a number of years. It wouldn’t surprise me if you’re contacted further down the line by the company asking if you’re still interested as something has opened up.

ScotRail - Conductor Recruitment and Discussion

Recently recruited staff into Gateline / Ticket Examiner / Conductor have been given Scotrail contracts and full staff benefits despite being recruited by Blue Arrow.

They’re carrying out driver recruitment which is a massive task, likely that?

You’re an external applicant I believe? It shouldn’t be long. Mines was a week.

    Scotrail Revinue Protection Officer info.

It’s a mobile Gateline as opposed to a Ticket Examiner. I know a few folk who had left TE jobs for the RPO and then returned to TE. Seems a bit of a make it up as you go effort since it’s a new post.

Check this post by me: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/scotrail-conductor-applicants.257197/page-4#post-6611852 Look for the Bourdon tool in the driver assessment threads on here and you can change this to SCAAT for symbols which is the assessment you’ll be doing first. It’s the only...

It was very quick, within a week or so. The training is done in Glasgow at Atrium Court.

Any idea of your start date? I’m in post now, all moved very quickly indeed. The training flies by.
