My intention by quoting your post was to add an additional (rhetorical) question to the OP.
Happy to clarify and apologise for any misunderstanding. :)
If the problem was brake failure I'm sure there's a guy (or a lady) up front who is paid to notice, and presumably has more training on what to do in that event than a passenger.
I’m quite sure they have. However to the lay and unqualified observer blocking Newbridge Junction with trains wasn’t very clever considering the Twitter page were suggesting via Bathgate as an alternative route.
Although 380s have SDO they are 23m units, so in six/seven car formation will be longer than the vast majority of platforms on route. I'm not sure 314s had in cab CCTV.
I quite like the fact its 334s only on the route. It means you can tell at Waverley that there's no 334s on platform and can...
It only counts skips where it continues in passenger service to an advertised destination.
For example a Helensburgh/Milngavie to Edinburgh terminated and started back at Bathgate doesn’t count as a skip for Livingston North, Uphall, Edinburgh Park, Haymarket or Edinburgh in either direction...
I am shocked it took nine days for the OP to open a further thread to criticise Scotrail.
FWIW the vending machine at my local station appears to be operational. I see a ticket examiner selling tickets on almost every single journey and where I don't it's usually because it's busy.
Presumably the problem they have is identifying him and not necessarily corroborating events.
They aren’t appealing for witnesses, indeed they may already have some but just don’t know who he is. So identifying the train isn’t of value. If he looks like the bloke who sits opposite you in work...
I think to the average person on the street a train is a train. So they feel if there’s a faulty one surely there’s a spare lying around? I’m not sure there’s much consideration of route clearance/training required to operate a certain type of unit on a cerain line.
Similarly a lack of train...
It’s quite sad really that a fully nationalised industry is accountable to taxpayers (or at least, the Government is in terms of delivery), an industry in a competitive market is accountable to customers (who can buy like for like products elsewhere) however in the railway hybrid nobody appears...
Travelling on the Glasgow Queen Steet - Edinburgh vis Airdrie/Bathgate route I’d say the new timetable will rely upon skip stopping to some degree.
I support skip stopping- I’ve seen countless trains terminated early to run empty to Waverley anyway.
However being late at Newbridge Jn creates...
