Helensburgh Central platforms 1 and 3 had MERY XMAS on the 25th.

    Edinburgh but not Waverley

And the 334s would say Edinburgh Waverley on train. :)

    Emergency alarm for skipped stop?

My intention by quoting your post was to add an additional (rhetorical) question to the OP. Happy to clarify and apologise for any misunderstanding. :)

    Emergency alarm for skipped stop?

If the problem was brake failure I'm sure there's a guy (or a lady) up front who is paid to notice, and presumably has more training on what to do in that event than a passenger.

    Emergency alarm for skipped stop?

And let us know if you are quicker getting to your car than getting the next service back/a taxi.

Flooding at Winchburgh (07/08): looks like a canal tunnel

I’m quite sure they have. However to the lay and unqualified observer blocking Newbridge Junction with trains wasn’t very clever considering the Twitter page were suggesting via Bathgate as an alternative route.

Flooding at Winchburgh (07/08): looks like a canal tunnel

The geniuses appear to have caused chaos on the Bathgate route by (unnecessarily) blocking Newbridge Junction this morning.

    Caledonian Sleeper

Possible bad news for the Fort William - Edinburgh portion tonight. Wires down at Charing Cross (Glasgow).

    Scotrail collects 2nd improvement notice

Points failure at Newbridge Jn now. Airdrie/Bathgate services starting back at Bathgate.

Class 320s on Airdrie - Bathgate line?

The Helensburgh/Milngavie to Edinburgh services are all 334s mostly as 6 car formations but you do get the odd 3.

Class 320s on Airdrie - Bathgate line?

Although 380s have SDO they are 23m units, so in six/seven car formation will be longer than the vast majority of platforms on route. I'm not sure 314s had in cab CCTV. I quite like the fact its 334s only on the route. It means you can tell at Waverley that there's no 334s on platform and can...

    Scotrail collects 2nd improvement notice

It only counts skips where it continues in passenger service to an advertised destination. For example a Helensburgh/Milngavie to Edinburgh terminated and started back at Bathgate doesn’t count as a skip for Livingston North, Uphall, Edinburgh Park, Haymarket or Edinburgh in either direction...

    Scotrail collects 2nd improvement notice

Indeed. Milngavie has never been skipped (it physically can’t) so reading those stats you’d come to the incorrect conclusion it gets a good service.

On board and platform ticket machines Scotrail

I am shocked it took nine days for the OP to open a further thread to criticise Scotrail. FWIW the vending machine at my local station appears to be operational. I see a ticket examiner selling tickets on almost every single journey and where I don't it's usually because it's busy.

    “Scotlands best ever railway”

It is. If you are in SPT DOO-land you'd barely notice there was a problem (except Glasgow Queen Street - Springburn - Cumbernauld).

BTP appeal after train manager sexually assaulted.

Presumably the problem they have is identifying him and not necessarily corroborating events. They aren’t appealing for witnesses, indeed they may already have some but just don’t know who he is. So identifying the train isn’t of value. If he looks like the bloke who sits opposite you in work...

    “Scotlands best ever railway”

I think to the average person on the street a train is a train. So they feel if there’s a faulty one surely there’s a spare lying around? I’m not sure there’s much consideration of route clearance/training required to operate a certain type of unit on a cerain line. Similarly a lack of train...

    “Scotlands best ever railway”

It’s quite sad really that a fully nationalised industry is accountable to taxpayers (or at least, the Government is in terms of delivery), an industry in a competitive market is accountable to customers (who can buy like for like products elsewhere) however in the railway hybrid nobody appears...

    “Scotlands best ever railway”

Travelling on the Glasgow Queen Steet - Edinburgh vis Airdrie/Bathgate route I’d say the new timetable will rely upon skip stopping to some degree. I support skip stopping- I’ve seen countless trains terminated early to run empty to Waverley anyway. However being late at Newbridge Jn creates...
