If there were an 8 car 385 it could only use P7. We are unlikely to see this in the short term because in the event of a failure at 7 it couldn’t be rerouted elsewhere.
Other platforms can take a 7x23m or 8x20m (365).
Thanks very much for your input everyone. As for the saving it’s quite significant when it all adds up.
I guess I know that due to the similarity of the ticket with other restrictions it isn’t likely to last long. I considered dailies but I think it’d stick out like a sore thumb with its lower...
I don’t know if it’s helpful but the NRE website/app and that of the TOCs in question (plus train line, etc) offer the route I intend to take when planning a route between the two stations on the season ticket.
Hi all,
I’m looking for advice on travelling on a season ticket. I don’t want to disclose the stations as this is a loophole I believe the TOC would seek to close by negative easement.
Existing negative easements cover a number of stations on both lines preventing use of a common routing...
I’m sure I read the intention was for the 365s to always run as 8 carriages, which as pointed out is shorter than a 7 carriage 380.
I think it’ll be a while before we see 8 carriage 385s around.
Nice to see a photo of the first electric train to run in passenger service between Queen Street and Edinburgh. The Class 334 in the background .
Only joking (partially). Will need an excuse to travel on a 365 this week.
Does anyone know if Scotrail plan to extend the £13 fare via Bathgate as a result of the delays/365s on their way? It was initially stated to be until the 19th of May.
I was wondering what the operational factors behind an operational incident I encountered some years ago (at least five!) on the rail network where the train I was on partially overran the platform at one station.
I must stress at this point that I note that other discussions often deem it...
ScotRail trains aren't that new. Only the 170s, 334s and 380s are under 20 with the oldest sets of the first two pushing 19 and 18 respectively (using the construction rather than in service dates).
385s will improve the average, but there's a lot of old 156/158/314/318 and 320s out there.
Not quite from December but from 8th August when Glasgow Queen Street High Level reopens the stopping patterns of low level services are changing.
The current Milngavie to Edinburgh services that run express between High Street and Coatbridge Sunnyside will additionally call at Shettleston...
