I always thought LNER/XC Glasgow services would be faster and better off to go via Falkirk High into Queen Street rather than Central via Motherwell? However I am assuming there is a reason this doesn’t happen?
I also think maybe the LNER services to Hull, Sunderland (as mentioned earlier on...
Currently sat on one now! Generally I would say most passengers join or alight at Gloucester, more than Cheltenham.
I would suggest the only way to solve this is a new station on the main lines at Gloucester, or 2tph via Stroud; one does Gloucester the other does Cheltenham.

There...
It doesn’t - just suggesting what could be done. Maybe skipping it entirely on one service per hour would help overcrowding in the medium term, but as @The Planner says it would probably get slowed down somewhere else anyway so journey time improvements would be minimal.
That was my understanding also.

Is “the TPWS Mark 4 protection system” something completely different to the Tripcock? System required on the Aylesbury-Marylebone line?
Are links to these other tenders posted on here already or is someone able to post them?

I’m guessing Buxton and Cumbrian Coast would probably be a no go area…...
Thank you this is very helpful. Basically theyre not cleared anywhere they dont already go! I’m surprised that they’re not clear to go west of Plymouth either.
Good Afternoon
I’m sure some years ago. There were maps, which showed which routes each class of train was route cleared for. I’ve been trying to find out which routes class, 165 and 166s Are cleared for yet unfortunately any information I can find is quite a few years out of date! Is there an...
Sadly I think you may be right GC will be the ladt operator in their career and can see the 175s going that way at this point too. Especially as the requirement for 125mph DMUs has diminished rapidly and will continue to with more electrification and bi modes.
Better stock ie 222s rather than awful voyagers.
More direct services from Gloucester end through to Leicester and Cambridge.
More calls at Ashchurch and Bromsgrove to connect with cross-city line stoppers.
A decent catering offering for long distance services.
Maybe a reduction in first...
