    On the S&D between Ashcott and Shapwick, the Eclipse Peat Co narrow gauge line crossed on the level, in 1949 on 19th August a passenger train collided with the NG train and ended up in the Glastonbury Canal :oops: !

    Yes they are "carriage" lamps, as in horse drawn rather than railway carriages, although there is just a slim chance they could have been used on a railway owned horse drawn delivery wagon. ;)

    A fair bit remains on the WSR between Dunster and Minehead, referred to as "the tin road", hollow presumably pressed steel sleepers with 4 holes near each end through which it appears the molten metal for the chair castings was poured through, ISTR the dates cast into the chairs was 1939.
