Actually Norton Fitzwarren on the WSR may well be unique as there are actually 2 usable triangles, check it out on Google Earth (other aerial mapping sites are available !) ;).
Extra diesel service not possible as being low season the passing loop at Harmans Cross cannot be used, it being obstructed due to scaffolding in place for work on the signal box. Presumably the unprecedented demand was due to a combination of poor weather and a coach pre-booked for a group.
The first DMU car arrived by road at Norden today, I saw it being propelled into Corfe Castle on their webcam at about 1300hrs by the 08, I believe the other 2 cars will arrive by road at Norden tomorrow and Saturday. :)
The class 117 dmu is due to return to Swanage from Eastleigh tomorrow (Thursday 2nd Jan) The class 33 is going from Swanage in the morning to collect it :).

Heritage wise I would love to do Minehead to Swanage, maybe out via Castle Cary, Yeovil and Weymouth and back via Bournemouth, Southampton, Sailsbury and Westbury, a cracking day out !
Might be better to concentrate modern battery technology on getting carriage lights working properly before spending zillions on alternative traction methods !
